Just a general question - There seems to be a meme among lefties that Al Jazeera is an exceptionally "objective" news source. I haven't read Al Jazeera, but I wondered how the hell it has this reputation, even among the addled Left? I had an argument with my (college-aged) daughter over Christmas break about this. She insisted that it, along with the BBC, is very factual. I find this hard to believe, and suppose I should read it myself, but just wondered what you guys thought. I'm SURE there is no objectivity about Israel, for example.

I know it may be insane, but I'm thinking of moving to Colorado, Boulder specifically. Do any of you live there and do you think it's possible for a 62-year-old single female Conservative to live happily there? Hello all - In the interest of fighting the arguments of those (like my daughter) who defend socialism and point to how "happy" and content people are in Scandanavia in terms of healthcare and general prosperity, can you give me some good responses (besides "We are not Sweden"). I know of their problem with radical Islam now, and I know that their taxes are ridiculous, but I have heard that they are supposedly happy with their socialist government. I don't get it...why does it supposedly "work" there or in Germany, where the economy seems to be strong? I despise collectivism...

As a Christian, I realize that I need to keep a perspective about these things but it's very difficult. I look at someone like Breitbart, who was in the midst of the struggle and was suddenly taken away, to a new place where presumably, it is all irrelevant. Last night I got into a huge discussion with a liberal drone who thought he knew everything (don't they all?). I just have to vent to someone - I'm so angry!!!! I am doing a Masters in Counseling and currently have a class in Marriage and Family issues. The text is revoltingly biased - in which white, Christian, heterosexual males are usually to blame for everything.
