Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his wife were leaving dinner at a new pizza joint near their home in Omaha one night last week when a patron began complaining about Nelson’s decisive vote in favor of the Senate’s health care bill. Other customers started booing. A woman yelled, “Get him the hell out of here!” And the Nelsons and their dining companions beat a hasty retreat.

In a radio interview today, Massachusetts Attorney General Coakley mischaracterized separation of church and state to an embarrassing degree. The background is a repeated claim by Coakley that Scott Brown prefers legislation that would deny rape victims the morning-after pill. However, in reality her claims stem from an amendment that Brown authored in Massachusetts that allowed an individual to decline giving birth control in the case of a personal moral or religious objection. Coakley’s claim that Brown would favor allowing emergency rooms to deny care is bit of a stretch, to say the least. Today, Ken Pittman of WBSM in...

Barack Obama’s quest and campaign promise to “fundamentally change the United States” is in full swing. It is not a new effort and the change has been underway for years. The changes are simple; what is underway is a redefinition of the term equality in the American psyche. Equality is defined as a state of being essentially equal or equivalent; equally balanced; “on a par with the best.” Our founding documents are sprinkled with the sentiment of equality. On par with the best, particularly, harkens to the development of a society where no matter your station of birth one could...

By now anyone following the Massachusetts Senate election knows of the latest twist, involving Michael Meehan, and Weekly Standard reporter John McCormack. McCormack, after asking a tough question was shoved by Meehan and fell into a metal fence. For his part, Meehan has apologized, and McCormack appeared to be unhurt. The unfortunate part of the story is that the two questions asked by McCormack deserve an answer, and have been ignored. For her part in the whole affair, Coakley should at least answer the questions that led to Meehan’s actions. Coakley commented that she did not see what happened in...

Prior to the final televised debate of the special Senate election in Massachusetts, both sides had their supporters out in force to make a show for the media. One group sporting yellow Sheet Metal Workers Union t-shirts over their winter jackets appeared to be supporting Martha Coakley. However, an amature video, already removed from Youtube, showed some of those Coakley supporters speaking candidly about being paid by the union to attend. One man said he did not want to be there but, had to come down in order to receive $50 from the Union. The Astroturf is green, even in...

A who’s who of the insurance and pharmaceutical lobby stepped up to the plate to help Martha Coakley with a high priced fundraiser. In a battle to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat in the Senate and presumably maintain the 60th vote in a filibuster-proof Senate, Coakley is facing increased competition from Republican Scott Brown. It is more than healthcare that is driving the poll numbers (as close as 1 point in some polls) in Massachusetts, and Coakley had recently run into fund raising problems prior to the healthcare lobby riding to the rescue. However, the race is shaping up to be...

The idea of a conservative Senator in Massachusetts seemed impossible, but the strong showing of Mr. Brown is an indicator just how upset the electorate is with the corruption of the Washington establishment. Below are some exerpts with details on the January 19th race.

MIT economist Jonathan Gruber raked in nearly $300,000 from the Obama administration’s Department of Health and Human Services while frequently appearing in news accounts as a non-partisan analyst who supported Democratic health care legislation. Gruber defended himself to Ben Smith at the Politico, arguing that HHS didn’t fund his “public declarations” and that he didn’t say anything that was contrary to what he believed.

On Monday, January 4th, BarackObama.com (the President’s campaign group) sent out a call for donations. These fundraising requests are nothing new, and appear regularly from the President’s camp. The interesting parts in Monday’s request are the reasons sited by organizer David Plouffe, “2010 will be a year of new, exciting challenges. We’ll be working hard with President Obama to finish the fight for health insurance reform…” The donation request goes on to reference that money will be used to “improve transparency in Washington to elevate the voices of the American people.”

The irony of taxpayer money being used to disparage a group whose platform includes a call for the government to stop wasting public funds is something that surely gave our propaganda czars a chuckle. The left continues to try to alienate and isolate the Tea Party movement using all quarters to attack. We have seen news outlets from CNN to MSNBC jump on the “teabag” bandwagon to ridicule Americans for their fiscal beliefs

In November of 2010 we take back the country. As 2010 dawns, elected officials have to be eyeing November with some apprehension. 2010 will see the answers to a number of questions that have arisen in 2009. How much Socialism can be pushed on the American public over the next 11 months? Can the Republicans...

Barack Obama’s national security policy of making them like us has lead to the failures at Ft. Hood, and Northwest flight 253. Intelligence is not a priority, as demonstrated by the Administration’s attacks on those in our intelligence community. Today, President Obama took to the airwaves for the second time in two days to address security concerns...

Exerpt from Bob Owens December 28,2009 Quietly, Obama just made it much easier for the International Criminal Court to go after American “war criminals.” At ThreatsWatch.org, Steve Schippert and Clyde Middleton have dug up the bizarre and unsettling issuance of an executive order recently signed by President Barack Obama. Executive Order — Amending Executive Order 12425, signed December 16 and released a day later, grants the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) rights on American soil that place it beyond the reach of our own law enforcement agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Obama, in a “let me be clear” moment, sends the message to Iran that America may stand by and watch while they do what they will. The President strongly condemned the action of the Iranian Government and called on them to “respect the rights of its own people.” President Obama says, “We will bear witness” to the atrocities in Iran. The demonstrations in Iran have given life to a democracy movement that has the potential to topple one of the most extreme regimes this young century has seen...

In interviews following the attempted bombing of a Detroit bound airliner, Secretary Napolitano hit the airwaves to reassure the American people. On Sunday, Ms. Napolitano commented, “The system has worked really very, very smoothly over the past several days.” Presumably, since the comment was made on Sunday, the last several days would include the time at which the bomber boarded his flight in Amsterdam, and

On the eve of the Copenhagen – University of East Anglia summit on climate change, the Russians are believed to have launched an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of holding nuclear warheads. Now we know that this is the explanation behind the “mysterious lights” over Norway. Dubbed a failure by military standards, it is interesting to note the timing of this act. (1) Putin has much to lose over the economic and financial effects of international regulation forced upon Russia, and virtually all countries bound by this so-called pseudo-science. By boycotting the panel and then stealing the spotlight by launching weapons,...

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse made some curious comments on the floor of the Senate while discussing healthcare. In the video, the Senator calls foes of healthcare Birthers, Militia Members, and Aryans. Unfortunately for the Senator, polls show that the majority of Americans are against the current healthcare bill. Why Senator Whitehouse feels compelled to characterize over 50% of the country in such a manner is something that only he can answer, however, when asked all he could do was deny that he had made the claim. The Teaparty movement has recently out-polled both Republicans and Democrats. It must be difficult for...

If you are not sure what is in the healthcare bill, just ask Wall Street. Following news that the Senate had passed its 2700 page health bill, insurance industry stocks shot up. By 11AM the morning after Harry Reid’s middle of the night vote, the big board showed United Health up 4.31%, Aetna up 5.63% CIGNA up 5.89%, Humana up 4.00%, WellPoint up 3.79%, and Coventry Health up 3.91%. In the post-9/11 world, the term hero has been thrown around often by politicians and the media. At a time when our country is losing a generation of selfless men and women, it is a good time to reflect on the actions of some of our true American heroes. One of the latest losses is that of Col. James Herbert Macia, who died on Monday December 21st, 2009. Col. Macia was a Bombardier/Navigator on Crew 14 in Jimmy Doolittle’s Tokyo raid (pictured on far left). This volunteer action was considered by many to be a mission of no return.
