Sure,,,,looking at the fruits is part of what the Word teaches...not one of the Apostles and Prophets were quasi government and military leaders but I suppose one could look at King David. Still... Calvin was not these men!

Paul taught Christ...Calvin taught Calvin’s interpretation of Paul!

Paul said “Be imitators of Christ and be also imitators of me” going on to explain what he meant by that. Are you saying we should be imitators of John Calvin, too?

If so, looking at Calvin’s history I see a lot that we should not imitate!

Yet you miss my point.... the name Calvinism applied to what is touted to be “true Christ Logos in Flesh “ washed doctrine argues against it being so.

For example, though others have tried to argue it so in direct opposition to Paul, we don’t say Paul’s preachings and teachings are principles of “Paulist-ism” the same way that scriptures are used in a way to support “Calvinism”. We accept that Paul preached under the influence of the Holy Ghost and thus accept his scriptures and letters as having the imprimater of the Godhead itself and themselves ...the three in One.

So my argument ....Calvinism so long as it is identified as such is man made while Paul’s preaching was God breathed. Calvinist views aren’t all bad and it doesn’t deny the Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Yet it’s like adding a garnish like parsley to the Lords Supper or the Eucharist if you wish to call it that. It looks nice, it might frshen the breath but does it have a place in a meal of bread and wine, flesh broken and blood poured out?

If calvinism was fully true then the Holy Spirit would not have had it called Calvinism. It would have simply been called “The Way” or simply Christianity. The doctrines of Calvin have been teased from the pages of the Bible, almost set apart from The Word Logos made flesh.

If Calvinism was the way we were to interpret the bible plan of Salvation...then it would not have been allowed to be called “Calvinism”...it would have been called ‘The true way of Christ”.

You offered Bible verses to support your position and i offered a Bible verse supporting my position. I believe the entire Bible, even the inconvenient portions that done’t support your emotion laden position. Sure I have human feelings, I can’t say I like the torment verses but they say what they say and I believe deep in my soul that they mean what they are saying in describing what happens when a person goes into eternity without Christ. They don’t experience a God induced Moksha or extinction which is a very Buddhist/Hindu concept by the way(of course according to them, one only reaches that thru spiritual ascendency thru cycles of reincarnation...but you are arguing that God makes a “moksha” out of sinners and thus they simply have become nothingness”). The Bible leaves no room for that explanation. Those alive at the end of the thousasant years and those who were dead, but not in Christ will be resurrected and all will face the final judgment. Those who don’t find their names in the Lamb’s book of life will be cast into the Lake of Fire with the smoke of their torment going up forever. It is what it is!

Yet I don’t think the Lake of Fire is the worst fate that could happen to a soul...God didn’t invent it out of cruelty. Our souls/spirit were made to be contained in bodies of some type with the ability to by senses to experience the world and universe outside of them. Even the Lake of Fire is a sort of tourniquet of experience that allows a person to reference itself. I think the alternative must be worse from God’s perspective. Sure there must be justice but making a person totally extinct is just something even God won’t do! In order to make them totally extinct, he has to erase them from being presently alive in the past and presently alive, then presently alive in the future which means the interactions and the constant subtle reactions that person had with the universe also would have to be compensated for. God is alive in all past present and future and because in God we live and move and have our being God is present in all that. God can do anything he wishes but to make a sinner totally extinct and a nothing is probably harder than we can imagine for the Father, if only because he loves that sinner, jealously, even if that sinner rejects him. Once a person has been brought into existense, it can never be said that he had never existed, he can be destroyed and everything about him dissolved in fervent heat but in the warp and weft of eternity, that sinner once had a place in God.So yes i believe that the lake of Fire is a sinner’s forever tormet, but not the unkindness from God one might judge it to be!
The Bible is very naked about what it says...since the garden of Eden, people have always tried to dress up the Word of God into what ever they wished it to say, especially when they could not cover their own exposed spiritual nakedness in the light of his word!

many people can’t square a loving God with endless torment and punishment for those who reject him. They think God should be like a vet and kill and disintegrate a sinner’s soul and spirit making it as though it had never existed as a living sentient consciousness. A true lovingGod would not be so cruel to keep sinners in tormented states like that, many such folks reason.

That may be a far worser fate in God’s heart and site (than putting a sinners spirit in a body that is ‘fitted for destruction”...”where their worm dieth not”) which is to blast their entire soul/spirit essence into nothingness. CS Lewis spoke of hell(I think he mispoke of the lake of Fire) “as being a kind of tourniquet of the soul that would not allow God to do anything else for it.”

God exists across all time and dimension which means any person in some sense will always exist as a living entity, either, past or present or future. Being blasted into a complete nothingness when God had once created such a person into a living person might be harder to do, especially since God did breathe his life into each person alive.

The Lake of Fire while fearful to contemplate maybe more of a final sort of kindness than not. God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked.

There is Hell and then there is the lake of fire and I think people often conflate the two places...
    Second:Revelation 14:9-11
And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

While this verse speaks specifically of the mark takers...there are other verses that speak of the same fates for those who aren’t Christians. in short...there is scriptural support for eternal torment in the lake of fire...

Since he has already sat in prison for 27 years his punishment is done. They can’t prove he mean to hurt the kid...the state needs to let this go!(but watch him very carefully for the rest of his life)

No but you missed my point...the structure of the 10 commandments reflects the Two greatest commandments....the first half reflects the love we are to show to God; the last half reflects the love and duty that we are to show to our neighbor. Compare and contrast the decalogue with the Two greatest commandments. You will see Christ shining thru them!

We will be judged by whether or not Christ is in us or if a man’s name be written in the Lamb’s book of life. Christians will have their works judged by the fire(The Judgment seat of Christ) and what works survives will be our crowns; if some have few or no works that survive, they will be saved by that golden foundation of salvation that was laid in them by Christ.(For some it will be salvation “by the skin of their teeth” as the Bible says)

Paul wrote of “releasing” a church member “for the destruction of his flesh by Satan” due to his sexual immorality with his step mother...saying” so that the member’s spirit would be saved in the day of resurrection”.

It takes a lot apparently for an erring person, once saved to lose his salvation, though he might get very ill unto death, lest he repents.

A Christian saved by faith would be prompted in his person by the Spirit not to lie, worship false Gods, control rage, not to sin sexually, not to crave worldly things, to love and show charity and to exhibit all of the fruits of the Spirit that Bible mentions. All of these things are the logical extentions of the Laws of all the prophets, summed up by the two greatest commandments that Jesus mentioned. All things are Lawful said Paul but not all things are expedient. Love and necessity prompted by the spirit causes an ordering of which laws and statutes need to be adhered to based on life issues and circumstances. Love and charity shown to those in need have no laws against them! We are under grace as God has forgiven our sins. We do not serve the law like we do not serve the sabbath, the law, like the sabbath serves us when love and charity extended is our goal.

An example of what I meant was what Christ mentioned...giving the shew bred to David. It was unlawful for just any person to eat of it but it was all the priests had immediately to give to David who was famished and very faint with hunger. Technically one law was broken but breaking such a law served a higher law, that of loving one’s neighbor as oneself and doing so to preserve David’s life. The law has ceased to be that where each law has equal importance with no connection to one another(other than penalties applied if each one is broken) but instead becomes ordered in application based on our knowledge God’s love and grace. Jesus is our shew bread, we eat of him because there is nothing else that can save us from the lake of Fire, despite the stipulations of the law that command that spiritual death be the result of our sin against God’s law.

So Christ is the fulfillment of the law and he has put that fulfillment of that law into our inner man when he gave us the Spirit. We don’t disregard the law but the spirit guides us in the ordering of our lives... there are laws that may take precedence over others depending on our present situations. Yet in all that we are not to sin! We are never to bear false witness, to steal, to covet to murder...there is never any justification for adultery and fornication outside of marriage. The laws we are subject to are those that have to do with loving Christ and the Father and loving our neighbor as ourselves. We are subject to the “thou shalt love God and Man” parts of the law. It’s the Spirit that writes his laws on our hearts of flesh, not tablets of stone and guides us in the proper ordering of our lives based on our new internal principles. Charity/ and a knowledge of God’s selfless love extended to us, not Fear, was to be the new template with respect to how we are to approach and to live out the laws of God. Old things are passing away but Christ’s words will not pass away.

What are those Words? Every word spoken by the Mouth of the Father with Christ being the WORD made flesh!

Well yes that’s true but it wasn’t in the 10 commandments which when looked at carefully embodies the 2 Greatest Commandments...Love God with everything you are and Love your neighbor as yourself. The first half of the commandments speak of how we are to relate to God and to avoid idol worship, the last half speaks of how are to treat and not treat our neighbors.

Passages in the Old and New testament speak of being “circumcized in heart” as being more important than the physical cutting

OLD:Deuteronomy 10:16: “Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.”

New:Romans 2:29: “No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.”

Circumcision is NOT specified in the ten commandments but was in ceremonial law and practice commanded for the Hebrews. That would make it the 11 commandments, not the 10 commandments. Read exodus 20 again...no word about circumcision!

Christians I think should be considered “Neo-nomian” as the Holy Spirit writes his laws in our inward parts. Many laws are no longer in effect for Christians such as dietary or ceremonial laws. Sabbath laws are the biggest sources of controversy which Paul addressed and Jesus addressed, though most agree that some sort of sabbath should be followed, be it Saturday or Sunday. The need to be fully in agreement with one’s own conscience in matters of what to eat or what days to hold sacred is one of the biggest features of “neo-nomialism” as Paul claimed that a violated conscience is sin as it shows a weakness of faith in that our faith justifies us before God not our works. This is not to say that faith without works is normal, it is not. Works of charity, love, service, witnessing should be natural outgrowths of our growing faith; they are the “fruits of the spirit” which includes behavioral traits such as temperance, patience, long suffering, reduction of anger and rage, wisdom of serpents, and the love of the truth and scripture. These are signs that Christ’s “nomialism” is written in our hearts and is being renewed day by day as part of the daily renewal of the inner man!

You were worried about the Earthly treasures of others that rot or are eaten by vermin but you neglected to lay treasures of heaven for yourself! You unfairly judge a group for the sins of those who had led America to ruin and forget that it is the Lord that gives and takes away and sees to the needs of his children.
