  • My Suggestions for a Trip to Alaska

Almost our same itinerary last September and I arranged it all.
Day 1) We flew to Anchorage on our own. I had purchased a 3 night Prudhoe Bay pkg that met us at the airport, transferred us to one night Anc. downtown hotel.
Day 2)We visted the Alaska Museum in the morning on our own and it really paid off for enjoying the rest of our trip. In the afternoon we transferred to the airport and flew to Prudhoe Bay for a tour and overnight.
Day 3) Haul Road to Coldfoot via bus. Absolutely amazing.
Day 4) Coldfoot to Fairbanks. End of pkg tour. Again, amazing. Overnight in own in downtown Fairbanks.
Day 5) Visited a gold mine on our own and had a miner’s lunch. Afternoon visit to U of AK museum. Overnight Fairbanks. Great meals both nights.
Day 6) Alaska railroad to Talkeetna (Gold Star service is worth the extra price). Mt Denali was crystal clear this entire day. Evening glacier flight and landing. Overnight at Talkeetna Lodge looking out at Denali. Husband had been to Denali Park before so we skipped the park.
Day 7) Denali clear again today. Bus back to Anchorage to hotel and visited open market and the trail.
Day 8) Gold Star train to Seward for Kenai Fjords Glacier NP Cruise. Back to Anchorage via train.
    Day9) Flew home from Anchorage.

One of our best trips ever. What a special place.

Other than the Prudhoe Bay pkg everything else was on our own. I also bought a Toursaver book for some 2 for 1 cpns. Our trip was perfect.

Thank you so much for this link. I have so often referred to St. John’s dark night but had never read it. Since today is his Feast Day I will honor him and I will read this very very slowly. I already have tears in my eyes as I read Chapter 2. You have given me a great gift today. God bless you.

You WILL get through this. Take care of yourself. Make sure each day you do something physical, something spiritual and something that benefits you mentally. Nuture all those aspects of yourself. Remember, one day at a time. You, and all the others mentioned here in need, will be in my prayers to God.

  • US embassy in Honduras makes a request for Zelaya

Just spoke to my brother in Honduras. There is another all day curfew on Wednesday. He thinks that the Honduran intelligence got info that there was something planned and has co-opted it with the curfew. All communications are open (email, phone, tv).

The Honduran Foreign Minister had a press conference for the foreign press and speaks excellent English and gave his statement in English then had the Qand A in Spanish.

The Brazilian embassy has had the water and power disconnected. They want to get rid of Zelaya saying either request amnesty or get out. The fact that the crowds were dispersed today by the govt sent a msg. There is an opposition faction in Brazil protesting the situation. Looks as tho the US Embassy will be taking him.

I keep saying...look at the history between Llorens and Zelaya. Llorens is part of the plan. This is much bigger and a longer term planned event than it appears.

Just received email from my brother in Honduras. He says the only way Zelaya could have gotten in was through Palmerola US air base. He thinks that Clinton/State dept flew him in to the base and helicoptered to Brazilian embassy. There is concern on the trustworthiness of army due to the $$$ Zelaya and Chavez can pay.

This is critical. Also US Ambassador Llorens has a long history with Zelaya.

She is dressed appropriately for an audience with the Pope. Women are to dress modestly in all black with a mantilla. I was wondering if she would follow protocol. I appreciate that she did!

Look at his right knee and how it is bent. It appears to me to be almost a genuflection. A bow is to only bend from the waist. This went much further.

Actually, the parents did not immediately call the police. The man’s mother stayed in the house while the father went to an attorney’s office (someone who had represented the son before) and brought the attorney to the house BEFORE calling the police.

(Hi, I'm posting for the first time after lurking for years!)
I have lived in Santa Barbara for 4 years. This is simply a case of the ultra liberal faction finally being disciplined.
This is the most vicious liberal driven provincial town I have ever seen. Wendy McCaw may not be to everyone's liking but I support what she has done. The liberals are extremely upset because over the past couple of years the editorial page has started exposing the liberal (Democrat) politicians who control everything and it is driving them crazy.
