Dear Pat: Although I did enjoy your book Death of the West, for 15 years since I've watched you plunge deeper-and-deeper-and-deeper into your hermetically-sealed isolationist world... so deep, you'll contort into a pretzel -and say just about anything- to defend it. Here's some news for you: 1- It's not our job to decipher whether Iran 'means it' or not when they threaten to destroy Israel... same as it's not our duty (nor problem) to have to try and guess whether the Russians' various plutonium-encrusted threats are actually 'serious'. It's IRAN's and RUSSIA's responsibility to grow-up, drop the trash-talk... or simply learn to shut...

'Taco Liberty Bell' (1996): Taco Bell Corp placed a full-page ad in seven major newspapers announcing it had 'bought the Liberty Bell' and was renaming it the 'Taco Liberty Bell' in-order to help pay-down the national debt. Predictably, angry (+ slightly naive and/or lacking a calendar) citizens melted the phones at the offices of the National Historic Park in Philadelphia where the bell is kept. Taco Bell executives let them stew for a few hours before revealing it was all an April Fools gag at noon. President Clinton's quick-on-his-feet White House press secretary Mike McCurry responded when asked about the...

In her defense, has already issued a public apology for her ill-advised tourist photo snapped at the East Village disaster site last week... It hadn't gone-over even even with her own FB friends, even less so when the (public) Instagram snap made the NY Post. After all, two victims' bodies were still buried in the rubble while she stood there grinning like an idiot (flashing a peace/V-for-victory/gang sign... ?) One commenter described the stunt as 'disgusting beyond words'. Yeah, she wasn't the only one to do it-- but this is a woman who surely should have known better- after all,...

Remember back in the Spring of '09, when a fresh-faced 'historic president' Obama told a cheering crowd one sunny day at Prague Castle that he'll work towards a world 'free of nuclear weapons'? In retrospect, it seems he meant a world just free of American nuclear weapons- as he's been slashing all our capabilities, development programs, and even defensive missile shields to appease enemies -primarily Russia- in order to free up more money for solar panels and food stamps. The Norks sure didn't get the memo... nor the Russians, or anybody else- as they've been building and testing whatever-they-damnwell-please the whole time....

The Airbus operated by Lufthansa's budget airline 'GermanWings' that crashed in the French Alps yesterday made no radio contact whatsoever for the entire 8 minutes was roaring straight into the mountains (from 32,000 ft)... add to that the fact that no apparent effort was made to override computer controls, the German pilots' experience, the airline's perfect safety record... you can see why the other pilots would now like an explanation before they drag another 150 people to a horrific death. The pilots were likely either unconscious, bound, or dead- those are pretty much the only logical conclusions. If it was the...

Didn't expect attacks to come from them... not on the first day. And not sure what's up with Ralph Z. Hallow's agenda -be it lib or GOP establishment-connected- but what a bunch of intellectually-dishonest hooey: Shortly after launching his 2016 presidential bid, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz went on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News for a full hour Monday night where he told the story of how his Cuban-born father, Rafael Cruz, fought against the dictator in charge of Cuba at time, Fulgencio Bautista, more than a half century ago. But Mr. Cruz, 44, didn’t once mention that his father...

Pretty damn impressive... Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 - May 2008, Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country, not to mention the longest tenure in Texas history. Partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm’s U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice. Cruz has authored 80+ SCOTUS briefs and presented 40+ oral arguments before The Court Cruz served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States Described as a 'superb' constitutional lawyer, the man's considerable skills and laser-like focus were...

Now that Senator Chuck Grassley (R- Iowa) is asking if Hillary's closest aide and rumored love interest Huma Abedin was using her private email server too (among other things)- and now that we also know Hillary's email security/anti-spam contractor could see all of her most classified emails in plain English, it's time to worry about just who Huma Abedin is- and worry a lot: Although she was pilloried by the left and useful idiots like John McCain at the time, Michele Bachmann's 16-page letter clearly presented the case back in 2012: that the background, connections, and influence of Huma Abedin should at least...

I'll even admit he's on the exact same page as me, re. Ukraine/Kremlin... Trouble is: 1) I DO NOT trust him to do anything he says- there's something about the Jebster that seems shiftier and less genuine -at least to me- than Dubya. And there appears to be more of a sense of entitlement politically. 2) Jeb Bush is no conservative- he's denounced Ronald Reagan's legacy of practical common sense and towering achievement as somehow irrelevant, an unforgivable sin. 3) The Jebster is about as popular as a fart in an elevator... even within the Republican Party. 4) Others with actual conservative credentials/achievements/principlesoffer the same...
