H. Wayne Huizenga, who built Waste Management, Blockbuster and AutoNation into powerhouse companies, died at age 80, the Sun-Sentinel of South Florida reported Friday. Huizenga honed expertise building fractured industries into conglomerates and dominated trash collection, automotive sales and video sales. In the early 1990s, he owned three of South Florida's professional sports teams: the Miami Dolphines, the Florida Panthers and the Florida Marlins. Under Huizenga, the Marlins won the World Series and the Panthers reached the Stanley Cup Finals. His net worth of $2.8 billion in 2017 made him the 288th wealthiest person in America, according to Forbes.

Great Mills High School in Maryland was on lockdown after a shooting on Tuesday morning, school officials confirmed. The incident was contained and the St. Mary's Sheriff's Office was on the scene, the school said on its website. Maryland State Police also told Fox News they were responding to the incident.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt will soon end his agency’s use of “secret science” to craft regulations. “We need to make sure their data and methodology are published as part of the record,” Pruitt said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Otherwise, it’s not transparent. A link between dementia onset and cardiovascular fitness was found in a study that followed 191 women for 44 years, said a study published Wednesday in the medical journal Neurology. Researchers found that middle-aged women with a high-degree of cardiovascular fitness were 90 percent less likely to develop dementia later in life than those with moderate levels. The study looked at a sub-sample of Swedish women aged 38 to 60 who were first examined and tested back in 1968, the website Live Science reported and the findings suggest that physical fitness in midlife benefitted the brain along with the heart....

President Trump's campaign committee announced Tuesday it has rehired former national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson to serve as a senior adviser of grassroots outreach. Pierson was Trump's first formal spokesperson after he launched his campaign in June 2015. She stayed on staff through the campaign, but later jumped to America First Policies. On Monday, Trump's personal assistant John McEntee was fired due to a problem with his background check. McEntee was also named on Tuesday to Trump's campaign, which he previously served on during the 2016 election. McEntee will now work as a senior adviser for campaign operations.
