    H. Wayne Huizenga, who built Waste Management, Blockbuster and AutoNation into powerhouse companies, died at age 80, the Sun-Sentinel of South Florida reported Friday. Huizenga honed expertise building fractured industries into conglomerates and dominated trash collection, automotive sales and video sales. In the early 1990s, he owned three of South Florida's professional sports teams: the Miami Dolphines, the Florida Panthers and the Florida Marlins. Under Huizenga, the Marlins won the World Series and the Panthers reached the Stanley Cup Finals. His net worth of $2.8 billion in 2017 made him the 288th wealthiest person in America, according to Forbes.

High intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts are enormously popular 2014 exercise programs in the fitness industry. These training sessions typically include short bursts (from 6 seconds to 4 minutes) of intense exercise (greater than or equal to 90% maximal aerobic capacity) alternated with relief breaks of varying lengths (Kessler et al., 2012, Boutcher 2011). The workouts include a limitless variety of exercises including body weight movements, power lifting, plyometrics, sprints, playground physical activities (e.g., sled pushes and pulls), multiple mode training (e.g. cycle ergometer, treadmill, elliptical training, etc.), heavy rope drills and more. Characteristically, HIIT is depicted as an approach...
  • EXCLUSIVE: Scott Pruitt Will End EPA’s Use Of ‘Secret Science’ To Justify Regulations

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt will soon end his agency’s use of “secret science” to craft regulations. “We need to make sure their data and methodology are published as part of the record,” Pruitt said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Otherwise, it’s not transparent. It’s not objectively measured, and that’s important.” Pruitt will reverse long-standing EPA policy allowing regulators to rely on non-public scientific data in crafting rules. Such studies have been used to justify tens of billions of dollars worth of regulations. EPA regulators would only be allowed to consider scientific studies...

Full Title: Surrender to Brussels Agreed: Britain Obeys all EU Laws, no Control of Fisheries, Open Borders to 2020 The United Kingdom will agree to follow all European Union rules after Brexit and keep the nation’s borders open for the duration of the transition period to 2022, with further bad news for fisheries and communities in Northern Ireland as a new agreement was reached in Brussels Monday. The European Union’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier made the announcement in a joint press conference with Britain’s David Davis in Brussels, where the pair presented what was introduced as a “legal text...

In early 1999, when I first became aware of the Islamization of Europe, I didn't think that nineteen years later I'd be worried more about the future of the UK than about that of any other nation in Europe. Consider this. Martin Sellner is a leader of a group called Generation Identity, which is opposed to the ongoing Islamization of Europe; Brittany Pettibone, his American girlfriend, is a well-known online commentator on this topic. Both are law-abiding believers in liberty. On March 9 they flew to Britain. He intended to give a speech about freedom of expression at the legendary...
  • Sessions makes his move

    03/19/2018 4:48:12 AM PDT · by RoosterRedux · 200 replies
Sessions is the quintessential Eagle Scout. He will follow the rules down to the last subclause and will not make his move until every "t" has been crossed and every "i" dotted. We saw the first results of this approach last Friday – in dealing with Andrew McCabe, this century's prime example of a "cookie full of arsenic." Sessions waited until the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility (which is run by Assistant Director Candice Will, who was appointed by Robert Mueller, of all people) recommended that McCabe be fired. He then had McCabe officially informed beforehand, following established procedure to...

As Twitchy told you on Saturday, former CIA Director John Brennan was VERY upset after Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired former FBI Director Andrew McCabe: Sharyl Attkisson summed that up perfectly with one rhetorical question:

Following his termination late Friday night, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe declared that he was “singled out” after “unrelenting” attacks by President Trump and critics. McCabe’s objections are less than credible, given the virtually unprecedented recommendation of career officials to fire the one-time acting FBI director. However, McCabe may have rectified his “singled out” status with his long statement criticizing his termination: In the middle of it is a line that could be viewed as incriminating fired FBI director James Comey, not just in leaking sensitive information but also in lying to Congress. McCabe is accused of misleading investigators...

Friday's firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, based on a report from the Office of Professional Responsibility, is only the beginning of what is likely to be the most explosive series of revelations in American history. Forget Watergate. It will be the distant past once the Inspector General's reports—there apparently will be more than one—start to come out. This will be the "Gate of Gates." From the FBI and across the intelligence agencies an astonishing number of people are going to find themselves accused, one can safely predict at this point, of some atrocious...
  • Former FBI Spokesman Says McCabe’s ‘Lack of Candor’ Is ‘Unforgivable’

Although “there [are] many things that can be forgiven” within the nation’s pre-eminent law enforcement agency, a “lack of candor” and “not telling the truth” are “unforgivable,” former FBI national spokesperson John Iannarelli said Thursday night on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.” “The reality is that in the FBI there [are] many things that can be forgiven, yet punished. But lack of candor — not telling the truth — is unforgivable,” said Iannarelli (shown above left). “And there are no exceptions.” Iannarelli was reacting to reports that the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) recommended to Attorney General Jeff Sessions...

A link between dementia onset and cardiovascular fitness was found in a study that followed 191 women for 44 years, said a study published Wednesday in the medical journal Neurology. Researchers found that middle-aged women with a high-degree of cardiovascular fitness were 90 percent less likely to develop dementia later in life than those with moderate levels. The study looked at a sub-sample of Swedish women aged 38 to 60 who were first examined and tested back in 1968, the website Live Science reported and the findings suggest that physical fitness in midlife benefitted the brain along with the heart....
  • Hillary Clinton criticized by fellow Dems for trashing female Trump voters

Democrats who typically fall into the Clinton camp are trashing the two-time failed presidential candidate for singling out white female Trump voters, blaming their ballots cast in 2016 on “pressure” from male figures in their lives. From Democratic senators to even her former campaign manager, there is a seeming consensus across the board that even “sugarcoating” her comments this week don’t make them any easier to swallow. During former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s appearance in India over the weekend, she claimed she lost the 2016 presidential race in part because white women didn’t stand up to the men in...

On my first show for MSNBC last June, I sat down at Langley with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, now President Trump’s nominee for secretary of state. A quick read of the transcript will not only explain the sudden change at Foggy Bottom but also should reassure any fair-minded person that a much-needed infusion of talent and presidential trust is on the way. It’s been hard to find anyone in the White House to say a bad word about the character or personality of Rex Tillerson or a good word about his leadership at State. The friction between the White House...

President Trump's campaign committee announced Tuesday it has rehired former national spokeswoman Katrina Pierson to serve as a senior adviser of grassroots outreach. Pierson was Trump's first formal spokesperson after he launched his campaign in June 2015. She stayed on staff through the campaign, but later jumped to America First Policies. On Monday, Trump's personal assistant John McEntee was fired due to a problem with his background check. McEntee was also named on Tuesday to Trump's campaign, which he previously served on during the 2016 election. McEntee will now work as a senior adviser for campaign operations.

Here is a man who glories in breaking the rules, because that is how he rules. Notice, too, that in the middle of this comedy routine, Trump revealed exactly what he was planning to do with respect to North Korea. “By the way,” he told his audience, “a couple days ago they said, ‘We would like to talk,’ and I said, ‘So would we, but you have to de-nuke, you have to de-nuke.’ So let’s see what happens. . . . We will be meeting, and we’ll see if anything positive happens.” Not a single news outlet got the joke...

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said Monday it found “no evidence of collusion, coordination or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” as its Russia investigation starts to come to a close. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, who has led the committee’s bipartisan investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates during the 2016 presidential election, announced Monday that the panel had completed a more than 150-page draft report, with its initial findings and recommendations. “We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” the committee said...
