Carl Quintanilla: There's also a political element to this, and some people tell you if this had been a former Republican senator, or a Republican governor, the main-stream press would be much more aggressive than it is but because he was a Democrat, is a Democrat, because he was a friend of the President, that they've somehow, maybe... I guess they're saying that we've been soft on him... ? Dan Primack: You know, it's interesting... I'm not one to buy media conspiracies, or left-wing media conspiracies, it's not my bias, and to be honest, if we could pull off a...

In addition to reading from and discussing his recent book, author Nir Rosen will reflect on his 2011 sojourn in the Arab world, which took him to Iraq for three months. He also visited Yemen, where he was a witness to the beginning of the ongoing revolution and the people's struggle against the tyranny of the ruling regime. He is expanding on his research to analyze the factors fomenting the sectarianism and civil conflict that are brewing across the Arab world. Nir Rosen's Aftermath, an extraordinary feat of reporting, follows the contagious spread of radicalism and sectarian violence that led...

MADISON Two agencies are investigating a claim by Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley that Justice David Prosser put her in a chokehold earlier this month - an allegation Gov. Scott Walker on Monday called extremely serious. /snip/ The separate probes are being run by the Dane County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, which oversees the state's judicial ethics code. The sheriff's investigation was launched Monday; the commission's was authorized Friday and publicly acknowledged Monday.

THIS IS SO WEIRD…..did Justice Prosser choke Justice Bradley? or did she attack him first? did he choke her or did she make it up? And what’s up with the CHIEF JUSTICE? Where was she and why does her name surface in all these incidents? Something really, really, really, really weird is going on….. More information (take with a grain of salt as I can neither corroborate or deny) (from Wikipedia). This is about Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices David Prosser, Ann Walsh Bradley and Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson. Yes, it is getting weirder! “…The discussion became heated after Mrs....

Look what you find way down in paragraph 30 of this U.S. Government web page: U.S. Electricity Consumption. EIA expects little change in total U.S. electricity consumption between 2010 and 2011 (U.S. Total Electricity Consumption Chart). Cooling degree-days during 2011 are assumed to be 14 percent lower than last year, which drives the projected 2.5-percent decline in retail electricity sales to the residential sector. Improved economic conditions should lead to a 3.6-percent increase in sales to the industrial sector, while commercial-sector electricity sales show little change in 2011. During 2012, total U.S. electricity consumption grows by 2.0 percent.

Jesse Anderson, brother of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, was the victim of a possible flash mob attack. This is the lastest in what is described as "a string of attacks targetin CTA commuters." Mr. Anderson apparantly deviated from police-recommended behavior by chasing down his assailants, and was beaten for his troubles. The attack took place at about 4 AM Thursday.

Chicago police say they have three people in custody after the latest mob-style attack on Chicago's Near North Side. At least two people were robbed by a group of people Tuesday night. Several residents and employees were on edge Wednesday, afraid the group attacks are becoming the norm. A pack of a dozen police officers patrolled the crime scene area Wednesday morning. They said it was business as usual. However, those who live and work in the area said they wanted more protection.

The suspect in the January mass shootings in Tucson has been cited by former Congressman Patrick Kenndy as an example of discrimination against the mentally ill. Kennedy, the son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, mentioned Jared Loughner during an interview on CNN Sunday night to discuss his past problems and addictions and his campaign for recognition of brain disease. Loughner, 22, is charged with shooting 19 people, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., in a Tucson parking lot in January. Six people were killed. Giffords was shot in the head and is currently in a rehabilitation center in...

The woman who tore up a Florida Burger King during spring break today pleaded no contest to an assortment of criminal counts and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. A judge also banned Nekiva Hardy, the 30-year-old “BK Brawler,” from Burger Kings in Bay County, where her March 19 outburst was videotaped by a fellow patron. She was also placed on probation, ordered to do "community service," and fined nearly $5K. She's also got to complete a court-ordered anger management course.

This was somehow missed in all the uproar about the Japan tsunami that also happened on 11 March. It seems that Monica Conyers, the very classy wife of Congressman John Conyers, has unburdened herself of some thoughts concerning her ongoing experiences in federal custody. Among the heartwrenching trevails she must endure at Alderson Federal Prison (apparantly also known as "Camp Cupcake") are these: small portions in the mess hall, you can't get seconds of the things you like, and she has to keep company with a lot of female drug dealers. Recall that Ms. Conyers was convicted for taking bribes...

While admitting to battering one Burger King employee and giving police a phony name, the Alabama woman whose videotaped spring break outburst has become a YouTube hit said today that she believes prosecutors have overcharged her in reaction to news coverage of the incident It now appears the bikini-clad women who gave an impromptu counter dance at a Panama City FL Burger King is not, as previously noted, named Kimesa Smith. This was the name she gave police when she was arrested for setting off a disturbance that resulted in more than $1000 worth of damage to the fast-food...

A writer who publicly mocked the victim of a sex assault has resigned from his post at the London School of Economics after only two days. Nir Rosen, 33, stepped down from his role as a visiting fellow after the university was criticised for employing him. He got the job at LSE just weeks after resigning in disgrace from New York University for making fun of Lara Logan, a CBS correspondent who was attacked and sexually assaulted by a mob while covering protest in Egypt. He wrote a series of comments about the reporter on his Twitter page and said...

Back on February 15th, the rapidly evolving situation in Egypt was at the center of the news. One of the larger pieces of flotsam that swirled in the maelstrom was the story of one Nir Rosen, the Celebrated Journalist and left-wing whackjob who ran afoul of The Hive's complex hierarchy of victimology by publicly opining, on Twitter, that CBS News reporter Lara Logan submitted herself to sexual assault by a large crowd of Egyptian "Democracy Protesters" in order to "outdo Anderson [Cooper]." At that time, Mr. Rosen was listed as an "Alumni Fellow" on the website of "The Center On...

Excerpting for copyright concerns... Article contains the usual "intentional misunderstandings:" The Wisconsin law "strips many public employees of their voice on the job"Republicans "rushed the bill through," even though the Democrats walked out on February 17th and the bill was passed on March 11, an interval of 22 days The article claims that a "massive rally" was held "over the weekend." Here's a video of the "massive" rally; it looks to me like maybe two or three thousand people showed up, although it's hard to tell because the camera is at ground level. The article asserts that "state and many...

It sounded too good to be true -- and it was. An ambitious plan to make Los Angeles Community College District a national leader in green technology and renewable energy appears to be in shambles ... (skip) ... Given the high level of publicity that LACCD received for its green initiatives, there is a danger that these revelations will damage the credibility of other green projects on campuses nationwide. It is important to note that the problems besetting LACCD went far beyond the district's green initiatives. The LA Times articles exposed issues at every level of governance from the trustees...

Steely Speedy Transcript: Nir Rosen: ... I was a jerk, umm... two o'clock in the morning, and I was being thoughtless, ahh... forgetting that I wasn't just talking to a couple of people, but I was talking, in theory, to hundreds of thousands of people.Anderson Cooper: In your defense subsequent to this, you've said in a couple of articles, and the one I read [and] I quote: "I'd heard that miss Logan was roughed up like many other journalists, I did not realize it was something more serious." Umm... That's hard to believe though, reading your first two tweets; you...
