Of course these are NOT a perfect couple. They appear to be SCUM...But even SCUM don't deserve to have their child abducted/murdered. If they did there would be millions of child murders every year.

I feel much more sorry for the child than I do the parents. She was first let down by a couple of drunk, potheads, most likely passed out and couldn't hear her being abducted to her own murder.

Focus, I repeat FOCUS, on the murder of the child, not the sins of the parents...

I think it's a pretty fair bet that the child would not have been murdered had she had conscious, clear-headed parents in the home who concentrated on something other than their own carnal pleasure.

They should be charged with child neglect or whatever could be thrown at them. The remaining children should be permanently removed from their household which was obviously more pleasure palace than a home.

However, the bastard that took advange of the situation set up by these losers to murder that poor child should be given the needle.

I don't know why they keep him but I do have a theory as to why he is impotent. I think the Clintons got dirt on him and Hitlery probably sleeps with his FBI file.

"It's understandable to be outraged, but are you a savage? Will you pull the trigger yourself?"

I'd definitely pull the trigger, flip the level, whatever! You seriously would defend those savages who have sworn to kill Americans? What's wrong with you??

Why the helo and crew did not attempt a rescue....the moment they realized a crew menber fell out of the chopper ?????... It just seems to me...and I'm not trying to start some s$$t. ......but I cannot just see the chopper flying away and leaving one of it's men on the ground ??????

The pilot had to get that chopper out of firing range. He had a whole chopper full of men to consider and was under fire. Hard decision but it had to be made. He made the right decision.

Questioning the foreign policy strategy of the president does not mean that Daschle want our men and women to die for political gain

You're joking right? Daschle would be doing cartwheels if American soldiers started coming back in body bags as he would have some political ammunition.

    Wake up!

It may seem that I am cold, but that's okay. Better me be cold and unfeeling, then another infant be cold and unfeeling because they died, when it might have been prevented. But from what many have said, I dont have the right to care about the child, because I dont have any. I'm just young and stupid, remember?

Hey don't feel bad, a liberal on my email thread called me "an old stupid gasbag" and I'm only 41! LOL

And yes had something happened to my child, I not only wouldn't have forgiven myself, but probably would have died from the stress of a broken heart.

When my son was a toddler, his dad was walking him to our car, parked right in front of a major highway, in a shopping center, and was holding his hand. Dad let go for a split second to open the car door and my son, playing of course, bolted right toward the highway only a couple of feet away. My anguished, terrified, bloodcurdling scream was the only thing that shocked my son and thus made him pause long enough for my husband to grab him or else we would have lost the love of our life.

We watch our son like hawks however they do tend to move like lightening at times and sometimes horrible accidents can occur. It isn't always the sign of a bad parent. Most parents I know have had close calls.

If I owned a hotel, I damn sure would make the balcony baby-proof so they couldn't fall through the slats either.

Ok, I am going to take heat for this but FR is all about opinion, right?

Peggy, you can try to gloss it over anyway you like but you're simply stroking the liberal hand that helps keep you wealthy. And hey, that's your right! But it's my right to tell you how little respect I have for you for doing it - and how there are other names for someone who sells themselves.

No, Peggy, the Left Wing isn't a good show. It isn't a good show because it is a Leftist show and it's time to separate the Conservative men from the boys (or women from the girls as it were). An adult should be able to watch a show w/out being influenced by the politics, however young, impressionable kids can't. This is why the left is taking over our country - "conservatives" like you justifying that which greases your palm. How cheap. I would have expected more from you.

You are usually a good writer but please don't expect me to buy this swill. You're in it for the bucks and evidently there are things you'd "love" as long as it pays you from what I gathered from you article.

The man you stroke is a drug addict, Peggy. I find it abhorrent that you manage to overlook that and instead slobber over him and call him a "genius". So much for your moral compass here.

One more thing, the next time you are on one of those Fox shows, please for God's sake, stop tossing your hair like Marsha Brady - you are a grown woman, Peggy, not a 20 year old babe. Oh and comb it too.

Other than that, I usually like your articles.

Were do we come up with our fear of the US Military running amuck? Isn’t that what you are really asking?

Obviously a place unknown to you. We in the north know the devastation that the US military can do on a peace loving civilian population, for after all, it was our kin that destroyed the south just 140 years ago.

You keep welcoming the US Military into your neighborhood, let your kids play with them, give them your daughters, but don’t ever think for one moment that we up north are as easily duped.

You just need to put a nipple on the Jack Daniels bottle and sit on the back porch and wait for the black choppers hugging your peashooter! I sure wish I could insert some eerie music in this post! LMAO

Tofa you miss my point. I am a fan of big working dog breeds... I own them. I am just acknowledging breed tendencies have been bred into dogs or we would not have at least a hundred different breeds bred for particular purposes. We have dog breeds that dominate certain disciplines for a reason and it is silly to ignore that. Maybe you havent been following.

This post is more "fair and balanced" and appreciated :)

My point was, and is, that the hysteria from the media picks out certain breeds and at first makes them popular (so that they're overbred and abused) then goes in the opposite direction and promotes unnecessary hysteria that churns out actions such as the insurance company took. There is no need to feed into that. If you read all my posts on this thread, you'd probably have seen that.

I had 2 Rotties, now have one, and probably won't get another one. One was overly aggressive toward other dogs and I lived in a neighborhood, so I moved to the country(although that Rottie died). My male Rottie has always been a laid back lap dog. Dogs have distinct personalities. Except for genetic quirks (inbreeding) there are really no bad dogs, just bad owners.

I love my Rottie too!!! He will be 11 in March, and when he's gone, I'm getting me another one right away. It helps the hurting to have a new puppy. There's just no other dog like a rottie. They are so special

I agree they are special dogs. What are the usual expected life cycles of the Rottie? It is my understanding that our (your and my) dogs are on the upper end right now? My male shows no sign of his true age. I don't know if it's genetic for him or his lifestyle (indoor dog, sleeps in a king sized bed, good food/vet care) or a combination of both. His current vet is amazed at his good shape for his age.

The difference is that more male rotts attack without warning, at least according to the now 3 vets I've spoken to on this issue. They all maintain that the females are no problem and that males that have been fixed have never caused them problems.

Well according to my dog's 3 vets over the years (with moves) they aren't any more or less worried about Rottie bites than they are doberman's or chow's or dalmations, etc. One didn't have a certain breed he disliked or feared more than others and the other 2 named Chows. I guess it depends on who you talk with and their experiences.

My female Rottie was the aggressive one from day one compared to the male (both were spayed and neutered, respectively)- he's been laid back all his life. Dog's personalities are individual I have found. Had my female not died, I would have got rid of her but we didn't nickname the male "lump" for nothing. :)

There is no question that the owners of these dogs play a major role in the actions of their dogs but from a vet's standpoint that is irrelevant.

Guess it depends on the vet as we've established.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the more these breeds are inbred, the more physical and mental problems will arise in the litters.

This is true of any litter and when buying a pet you should insist on the parents being present and finding out about their own background.

It is not unfair to the Rottweiler to acknowledge common tendencies that exist with any of the big working breeds. These tendencies are not an accident and they have been cultivated. These traits make them ideal for some of the work they are now bred for, like police and protection work among other jobs. The same tendencies can also can translate into vices if exploited or not handled responsibly.

Simply being defensive and comparing them to poodles is naive. It does not help to pretend that working dogs to not need to be handled and trained well to avoid trouble.

We heard this same hysteria about Dobermans and Shephards back in the 70's as I remember. Same hysteria, different breed. Rotties have that menacing appearance and make good copy for tv so they get the airplay. All dogs can bite and be vicious and a pit bull I believe is 2000 PSI whereas a Rottweilers is 1700 psi and pits are about 1/2 the size of a rott. Also the pit's jaw locks. Dalmations of the cute movies have a much worse temperment than Rotts. And so it goes. Anyone who owns a big dog should be out in the country in my opinion or at least have a big yard with a good fence that has an electric horse run along the bottom. Those work beautifully - we had one and they pack quite a "bite". It's all in the responsibility and the lack thereof have ruined various breed's reputations. I adore my rottie but won't get another one when he died (he is 10 now) because of the hysteria crew - I just don't want the hassle.

But don't worry about it, I am sure the liberals will outlaw them right after guns.

No one said that all male rotts are bad, just that they have attacked without warning on many occasions.

So have poodles. So has every other breed of dog and at least one cat I had the unfortunate experience to walk by.
