Lerach, who recently emerged from an almost two-year stretch in prison, is greatly responsible for this rigged game. As an attorney who filed hundreds of class-action suits against corporations, he became a bigger fraudster than a lot of the companies he was pursuing. First, he filed many dubious suits, rejoicing when 90 percent of the companies decided to settle for millions of dollars rather than spend the time and money fighting. That stratagem wasn’t illegal, but it was grossly unethical — the classic shakedown. Companies called it getting “Lerached.” Second, Lerach and his firms paid fat kickbacks to shifty characters...

In the case of Trump University, the situation is even more disturbing. While Schneiderman’s investigation into Trump University first arose out of a larger inquiry into for-profit schools that accepted federal funding, his office quickly learned that neither Trump University nor its students had ever received any form of federal funding, subsidies or other government aid and offered all of its students a 3 day money back guarantee if they were not completely satisfied. Despite learning these facts, for the last two years, Schneiderman’s office has spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars conducting a no holds barred, scorched earth...

Those unfamiliar with the South Florida general labor market are most likely unfamiliar with the extreme swings in “seasonal need†workers. Does the word "Snowbird" ring a bell? Florida has a "tourist season" which runs from (generally speaking) just after Thanksgiving to Easter annually. January, February and March are the peak. The first Monday in February is the absolute peak as almost every time-share and hotel unit flips that week. The volume of work within the service and hospitality industry doubles during the tourist season, and those businesses who hire within the general labor market struggle to increase their labor...

An authorized committee may not make a contribution(s) to a candidate for federal office in excess of $2,000 per election. A qualified multi-candidate committee and all affiliated committees may not make a contribution(s) to a candidate for federal office in excess of $5,000 per election. The term "contribution" includes any gift, subscription, loan, advance, or deposit of money or anything of value made by any person for...

Long before running for president, Donald Trump battled racism and anti-Semitism in Palm Beach society. Trump understood the Palm Beach game and would have none of it. He sent copies of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner to members of the Palm Beach town council and the larger white society it represented. Trump's lawyers filed a $100 million lawsuit "alleging that the town was discriminating against Mar-a-Lago, in part because it is open to Jews and African-Americans." Residents winced at the attention his legal battles have drawn to the admission practices at some of Palm Beach's older clubs in particular. The...

The Ted Cruz campaign was called out for a very fake photoshop of Marco Rubio last week. This image of Rubio enthusiastically shaking Obama's hand was used on a Cruz campaign landing page. The Cruz campaign initially denied the photo was fake, which led to an important fact check by the internet. The photoshop feud led to an important competition on Twitter, where users attempted their own Rubio photoshops with stunning accuracy.

In yet another aggressive move that will thrill Trump supporters, late Tuesday morning, Jesse Rodriguez, Senior Producer of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," announced a town hall event with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump that will take place Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The night will be hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. The MSNBC town hall will compete directly with CNN's long-scheduled town hall with Trump's two closest competitors, Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio. On Trump's part, the competing town hall is obviously yet another one of The Donald's ruthlessly effective political moves to infuriate his competitors and smother...

There's a lot about Ted Cruz that should worry constitutionalists considering voting for the senator in the presidential election of 2016. Recently, Infogram published brief but illuminating biographies of several of Cruz's key foreign policy advisors. The information disclosed in these revelations could trouble many constitutionalists otherwise keen on the senator and who rely on him to restore the rule of law to the White House. The first person highlighted in the article is the chairman of Cruz's foreign policy team, Chad Sweet (shown). Sweet's professional and political background betrays Cruz's claims of being someone who promises "not to continue...

Heidi Cruz said Wednesday that her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was showing America "the face of the God that we serve" through his faith-based Republican presidential campaign.

An e-mail sent to news media outlets and a “tweet†issued by a fake Twitter account announced that Eckersley had SUSPENDED his campaign due to personal reasons. “You know this is dirty politics. This is JEFF ROE-style management. That’s who Billy’s retained. That’s who he writes the big checks to,†Eckersley tells Missourinet affiliate KTTS. “This is Kansas City management doing what they do best, which is playing dirty.â€

Jeff Roe, Cruz's campaign manager, pulled the exact same dirty trick with another candidate a few years ago. "An e-mail sent to news media outlets and a "tweet" issued by a fake Twitter account announced that Eckersley had suspended his campaign due to personal reasons. Eckersley blames his opponent, Republican Billy Long, for sending out the hoax days before the election, "You know this is dirty politics. This is Jeff Roe style management. That's who Billy's retained. That's who he writes the big checks to," Eckersley tells Missourinet affiliate KTTS. http://www.missourinet.com/2010/10/29/eckersley-calls-e-mail-a-hoax-says-hes-still-in-the-race-audio/

Southwest Missouri Congressional candidate Scott Eckersley blames the campaign staff of his Republican opponent for issuing a hoax that he had suspended his campaign. Eckersley blames his opponent, Republican Billy Long, for sending out the hoax days before the election. "You know this is dirty politics. This is Jeff Roe style management. A CNN source said the network would likely air parts of the Trump event live and other networks are expected to give it live coverage as well. Trump announced on Twitter a dedicated website, DonaldTrumpForVets.com, for his supporters to donate funds for military veterans. “It is my great honor to support our Veterans with you!†Trump tweeted. The website, however, did not specify any particular charity to which the funds would go.

While Cruz is running for president in 2016 as the consummate outsider, he launched his political career as a Bush administration insider, and his relationship with the GOP establishment is far deeper and more complex than he lets on. On the trail today, Cruz bashes the "Washington cartel," jokes of being so hated in the U.S. Capitol that he needs a "food-taster," and says at nearly every stop, "If you see a candidate Washington embraces, run and hide." But 16 years ago, as a young domestic policy adviser for Bush's 2000 campaign, Cruz himself had sought Washington's embrace. He uprooted...

In his new book, Thank You, President Bush: Reflections on the War on Terror, Defense of the Family, and Revival of the Economy, author Rod D. Martin argues that Bush has not only made America safer and stronger, but that he will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. At the same time Robert Bryce, author of Cronies: Oil, the Bushes, and the Rise of Texas, America's Superstate, looks at President Bush as an integral part of the Texas oil machine out to enrich both him and his "cronies." The book gathers together the leading lights of...

Republican candidates have accused Donald Trump of being a closet liberal, a Hillary plant, someone with New York values, donating to left-wing causes and left-wing politicians. They say he isn't conservative enough to be President, and many have accused him of being a Democrat. His political past makes him damaged goods and unacceptable to "Principled Conservatives" like Ted Cruz and his supporters. Seventeen years before becoming a Republican presidential candidate, Ronald Reagan began his political career as a Democrat. He joined numerous left-wing political committees and fought against Republican-sponsored right-to-work legislation. He was elected president of a large, famous union...

Already twice today, Cruz supporters have posted Jim Geraghty's article, titling it Trump hates Tea Party, Trump loves Obama, etc etc etc. This video shows Trump at a Tea Party rally in Boca Raton one day after the Larry King program, from which Geraghty and Cruz supporters have drawn their claims that Trump hates the Tea Party. It's from National Review which can't abide Trump, but did once have respect for truth, or some semblance of it.

Senator Ted Cruz seems to express disgust and outrage against the tactics deployed by what he calls the “DC Machineâ€. Cruz states that their conduct in the Mississippi runoff was "incredibly disappointing" etc. However, we now know - from specific documentation provided by internal research into the activity around the Mississippi campaign - that the National Republican Senatorial Campaign, the NRSC, was the financier for the attack ads against Chris McDaniel. So who is the "DC Machine", this "leadership of the NRSC", that Senator Ted Cruz is so incredibly disappointed in? Whoopsie - Yes it would appear that Ted Cruz...

"As an individual, John Roberts is undoubtedly a principled conservative, as is the president who appointed him. He clerked for Chief Justice Rehnquist, worked in the Reagan White House, and served as the principal deputy solicitor general in President George H.W. Bush's Justice Department. As a jurist, Judge Roberts' approach will be that of his entire career: carefully, faithfully applying the Constitution and legal precedent. He is a mainstream judge, respected across the ideological spectrum. Thus, he's earned praise from liberal icons such as Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe, and Chicago Law Professor Cass Sunstein, as well as from Clinton...
