On the Shooting USA website, Scoutten has created and is sharing business cards and fliers (see below) that allow conceal carry owners to show their support for pro-conceal carry businesses. The site also offers a card that informs gun-free zone businesses that as a conceal carry owner you won’t be risking your life without your legal conceal firearm in their “killing zones”.

A Blackhawk pilot and flight leader with the Fifth Battalion, 101st Airborne Brigade, CW3 Trevor Baucom was recognized by his superiors and fellow soldiers as much more than just a highly-capable leader. He seemed destined for a great career in the military- until the night his copilot flew their Blackhawk into the ground during a nighttime special forces mission against the Taliban. Three Australian soldiers and one of Trevor's flight crew were killed. Baucom survived, but life changed forever. Paralyzed from the waist down, Baucom's military career was over. That's only the beginning of "Trevor's Story".

Chicago entrepreneur Robert Blackwell Jr. paid Obama an $8,000-a-month retainer to give legal advice to his growing technology firm, Electronic Knowledge Interchange. It allowed Obama to supplement his $58,000 part-time state Senate salary for over a year with regular payments from Blackwell's firm that eventually totaled $112,000. A few months after receiving his final payment from EKI, Obama sent a request on state Senate letterhead urging Illinois officials to provide a $50,000 tourism promotion grant to another Blackwell company, Killerspin.

I got so incensed with all this offset business to help with the guilt of over-consumption,,,, and the fact that you can 'offset' excessive use of energy, that I built a website specifically so WE (the "little guy") could buy offsets and send them TO the rich and to celebrities so they could walk the walk. Enjoy!!!! CELEBRITY CARBON OFFSET. Also checkout the blog portion. CELEBRITY CARBON OFFSET BLOG. I really have the packets and the seeds if you want to 'pay it forward'.

My son, in high school, is watching "The Corporation" in history class. And as he decsribes it, it is very biased and anti big business. So he's been the only one in class to spout off. I haven't seen it and all reviews on the Internet just say how great it is. Has anyone seen it? And can anyone provide a couple of good rebuttals to help balance the class discussions? Thanks

It occurred to me, as well as to many others, that there's a lot going on that appears to be related. Other events simply bring up the questions of whether there is more going on than what we can easily piece together at this point. So I made a map and will update as events unfold. Perhaps we can look back and have a better idea at the connections between a plot in Britain and cell phone purchases in the US. No conspiracy theory here, just keeping track.

Reporters in Iraq have uncovered an interesting tidbit. Auto dealers have a nickname for the highly coveted Toyota Land Cruiser: the Monica. According to the Associated Press, the Monica gets its name from former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, whose appearance meets the Iraqi standards for feminine and automotive beauty. "She's a beautiful girl, and it's a beautiful car," declares Ghazi Abdullah Dormari, whose car lot in the northern city of Irbil features several late-model Monicas. Adds car dealer Marwan Shaban from nearby Mosul: "They are a very tempting car. Just as Monica tempted Clinton, they will tempt you."

A woman once named "Metro teacher of the year" has drawn a line in the sand. She says she would rather be fired than teach Pedro Garcia’s new reading program. Ann Zimmerman may never teach again. This 13-year Metro veteran and former teacher of the year has been suspended for refusing to teach a Pedro Garcia curriculum called Language, Exclamation Point! “They have me working the phones during lunch, and I happened to read the motto on the board, and it said, ‘Do whatever it takes to ensure students are successful.’ That's what I'm doing, I'm risking my job,” says...
