    In this video you can see that when the driver punched it, the rear end of the Challenger was inline with the third stanchion from the south next to the bicycle parking space. I have placed the northern distance marker there.

    In this video you can see that at the moment of impact the rear end of the Toyota was inline with the first parking space marker to the north from the stop-sign. I have placed the southern distance marker there.

    In the first link you will also notice that the driver stomps the brakes, hit the gas and squeals the tires, then stomps the brakes again before finally speeding toward the crowd. This is where the picture of his vehicle with the brake lights illuminated comes from. After that, the driver had almost 170 feet of room to accelerate, and the brake lights were never illuminated again before impact.

    In my carefully crafted opinion, he should have been traveling well over the speed threshold for the triggering of the airbags to deploy. For some reason they did not.
