HI everybody, I just got that awful call at 5:49 am from my sister, telling me Mom was in the cardiac care unit at St Lukes. Apparently they have placed 2 of 3 required stents, and she is in critical but stable condition. It's unclear at this time if she actually had a heart attack, or just what happened. She's getting somewhat elderly, and my Dad, who is older still, is getting a little fuzzy in his thought processes. He knows the medical field well (old field rep for a big drug company), but the 'fuzzyness' is getting to him....

Just heard on NBC11 News in Dallas TX, that Mrs Elizabeth Edwards (aka Mrs John Edwards) was diagnosed yesterday with breast cancer.

Posting this for my dear friend Cavtrooper21 and family. He asks for prayers for his father in law, Ed. Here is the info he asked me to post: Ed is going in for an emergency stent replacement tomorrow.( Wed AM) We are VERY worried. He is in poor spirits and looks very pale. The doc has told him that there is a possibility of an emergency open heart tomorrow (if there are problems with the stent), or one before the end of the week. He has agreed, but after spending some time with him today I'm thinking he's almost given...

Sorry for the vanity post but I'm moving to Texas soon and plan on applying for my CCW/CHL permit. I'm looking for belt/paddle/shoulder type holster recommendations for a 1911 style pistol that would work for both me & my husband. Being somewhat on the overfed side of things, IWB's are not an option right now. My primary carry mode will probably be a Coronado Leather bag, but that won't work for him! And I want the option to carry on-person sometimes too. Also it would need to be suitable for possible IDPA shoots.
