He should have laid on the sarcasm a bit thicker. Some people will take him seriously and soon this too will be part of Birther lore. “He said he remembers his birth. No one remembers their birth.” I’m mildly surprised that Obama or one of his surrogates hasn’t yet pointed out the endless ways in which Trump has strayed from conservative orthodoxy. They love to tweak Huntsman that way by touting his loyal diplomatic service to the administration, knowing that it’ll turn Republican voters against him. But then, electorally, that makes sense: They don’t want to face a candidate like...

The director of Enid’s Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Center was arrested Monday by Enid Police Department detectives on a complaint of lewd molestation of a minor child. Nathan R. Bowen, 32, was arrested Monday after speaking with Detective Nick John, who is investigating the case. Police received a complaint Monday of a 15-year-old boy being molested at the center, 1317 S. Van Buren. John served a search warrant at the center and spoke with Bowen, who said he was the center’s director. No bond has been set for Bowen, and formal charges have not been filed.

He alluded to this himself in the clip that Ed posted earlier, but since he’s now being treated as some sort of cancer on the party for daring to say that O’Donnell’s a flawed candidate, let’s flesh out the facts a bit. If, as Jeri Thompson suggests, Rove has a double standard for tea-party women, why is he spending boatloads of cash to help someone who, until 48 hours ago, was the most famous woman tea-party candidate in America? Sure, the fact that he hates Harry Reid is part of it. But what does that prove? Everyone hates Harry Reid.

A date for your diary: Leonardo da Vinci predicted that the world would end on November 1, 4006, according to a Vatican researcher. Sabrina Sforza Galitzia said the clues were to be found in da Vinci’s Last Supper mural. The central half-moon window, or lunette, above his painting of Christ with his disciples before the Crucifixion contains a “mathematical and astrological” puzzle which she has deciphered, she said. She claimed to have worked out that da Vinci foresaw the end of the world in a “universal flood” which would begin on March 21, 4006 and end on November 1 the...

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Harvard, even though it scored the highest, was among elite U.S. colleges where students proved dismal in their knowledge of civics and history, a report said. The non-profit Intercollegiate Studies Institute analyzed scores of a test given to 14,419 freshmen and seniors at 50 U.S. colleges last fall, USA Today reported Tuesday. Overall, the freshmen tested averaged 50.4 percent on a civic literacy test, while the seniors tested averaged 54.2 percent. Seniors tested at Harvard had the highest overall average at 69.6 percent, nearly 6 points higher than its freshmen but still a D-plus, said...

Anyone who knows about the DUmmies knows how vicious they get when a conservative falls ill or passes. Examples are too numerous to list, but if you're a newbie and curious, just go to Google and click in the name of any famous conservative who has passed since 2001, followed by "site:DemocraticUnderground.com". Anyways, on to the main point. Our favorite mental midgets have found us, and they believe that we are the cruel ones, as you can see in this thread. Apparently, wishing a conservative ill is a-ok, but joking about some goats is just inhuman, you mean old Freepers....

Ever since 1948, when Harvard professor Arthur Schlesinger Sr. asked 55 historians to rank U.S. presidents on a scale from "great" to "failure," such polls have been a favorite pastime for those of us who study the American past. Changes in presidential rankings reflect shifts in how we view history. When the first poll was taken, the Reconstruction era that followed the Civil War was regarded as a time of corruption and misgovernment caused by granting black men the right to vote. As a result, President Andrew Johnson, a fervent white supremacist who opposed efforts to extend basic rights to...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Yoko Ono, widow of slain Beatle John Lennon, issued a plea for forgiveness to the world's suffering people in a full page notice in Sunday's New York Times entitled "Forgive us." Noting that the December 8 anniversary of her husband's murder at the hands of an assassin was approaching, Ono thanked the people from whom she hears each year, but said she wanted to send a message this year as well. Directing her words to "people who have lost loved ones without cause," to "the soldiers of all countries and of all centuries," to civilians who...

SAN ANTONIO — In a debate telecast statewide, Republican U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison repeated her call Thursday for the United States to maintain its commitment to stabilizing Iraq rather than "cutting and running because times are rough." Hutchison, a senator for more than 13 years, also said she would not have voted for the United States to invade the country in 2003 if she'd known there were no weapons of mass destruction there. Barbara Ann Radnofsky Democratic challenger says Texas needs fresh leadership. Scott Lanier Jameson Libertarian says labeling enemies incites challenge. Responding to a reporter's question, Hutchison said:...

Among 21 locations shortlisted for the worldwide vote is Stonehenge, the only British landmark selected. The 5,000-year-old stones on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, will be up against sites including the Acropolis in Athens; the Statue of Liberty in New York; and the last remaining original wonder, the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo.

The 19-year old Buda man who is accused of having sex with a 14-year old Austin girl, he reportedly met on Myspace.com, says he didn't know it was against the law to have sex with the teenager. OXNARD, Calif. - The Cowboys breathed a huge sigh of relief Friday afternoon when owner and general manager Jerry Jones announced the preliminary results on Marcus Spears' knee injury were not as bad as initially feared. Spears is expected to miss as much as four weeks with a mid-grade sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, Jones said. Spears, taken to a local hospital for an MRI and X-rays, also suffered a high-ankle sprain and a strained calf muscle Friday morning.
