Okay, FRiend, just sit yourself down and listen to the way Davy Crockett (1835 or early 1836) got himself and his Tennessee volunteers into Texas on the way to the Alamo. You see, at that time there were no super highways and bridges, so the way you got over the rivers was by ferry. Also at that time the Red River was considered to be the Texas border. But there were a family/group of thugs, highway robbers and murderers that lived in Miller County (now Texarkana) who had heard that the Crockett party would be coming their way. This group of...

NRA Sponsored Phone Solicitation | YepYep
Last night I received a solicitation call from NRA. After hearing the one minute tape from NRA President, Wayne P.-- expressing conern about the massive numbers of NRA bill--I asked for and received the numbers of the House of Representatives and the Senate bills which are offensive to the 2nd ammendment of the Constitution. HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson today announced that 1999 national child abuse and neglect statistics reported by states continued to decline from just over 900,000 children in 1998 to an estimated 826,000 victims of maltreatment nationwide. The incidence rate of children victimized by maltreatment also declined to 11.8 per 1,000, a decrease from the 1998 rate of 12.6 per 1,000. The decrease, the sixth one in a row reported by the federal government, comes as the nation marks April as Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. | 1-11-01 | YepYep
Today the Optional Memberhip Questionaire received my attention--The struggle to protect the reproductive rights of all Americans is not a single-issue fight. Please indicate which five issues you consider most important, with 1 being your hightest priority. Rather than tossing this in the trash, I am responding with the following lettter:Dear Planned Parenthood:This is my response to your recent request for my membership. This organization certainly has admirable and even noble goals--such as reality-based sex education (helpful in lowering teen preganancy), protecting reproductive rights, safe contraception, and stopping violence. Also, though, it is important to stop violence WITHIN a woman. I ...
