Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) officials have been instructed to “avoid saying ‘Mexican cartel’ or discussing the Mexican government, or LE cooperation with Mexico” when speaking with the media, according to an internal email exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The reason for the shift in messaging is unclear, but comes as Mexican drug cartels continue to surge drugs across the southern border and adopt more advanced manufacturing and trafficking tactics. The DEA and the DOJ did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s multiple requests for comment on the email. Officials at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration...

Fear has invaded the Mexican border city of Reynosa after gunmen in vehicles killed 14 people, including taxis drivers, workers and a nursing student, and security forces responded with operations that left four suspects dead. While this city across the border from McAllen, Texas is used to cartel violence as a key trafficking point, the 14 victims in Saturday’s attacks appeared to be what Tamaulipas Gov. Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca called “innocent citizens” rather than members of one gang killed by a rival... The attacks took place in several neighborhoods in eastern Reynosa, according to the Tamaulipas state agency...

A Texas family has reportedly been kidnapped by a criminal cartel while traveling through Mexico, and there’s a stark silence on the apparent abduction from the White House. According to Breitbart, gunmen from the Los Zetas cartel are likely responsible for the disappearance of the family of 39-year-old Gladys Cristina Perez Sanchez. The mom and her two children, ages 9 and 16, were last seen on June 13. All three are American citizens, making President Joe Biden’s silence even more worrying. The apparent kidnapping happened after the family left Sabina Hidalgo, a town in the Mexican border state of Nuevo...

Mexican drug cartel members have recently taken to targeting police officers in their homes — then torturing and killing them, according to a disturbing new report. The Jalisco cartel has vowed to wipe out members of an elite law enforcement force known as the Tactical Group in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, the Associated Press reported Sunday. The cartel even had a banner printed up and hung from a building in Guanajuato city that declared: “If you want war, you’ll get a war. We have already shown that we know where you are. We are coming for all of...

It’s the not-so-secret dirty little secret the Biden administration doesn’t want Americans to know: Biden’s southern border policies are making all Americans less safe, no matter how far away from the border we live.In March, Joe Biden vaguely told reporters he’d visit the southern border “at some point,” but he has yet to make the trip. Kamala Harris has also neglected to visit the border even as Biden tasked her with stemming the so-called “surge of migration” there. By contrast, numerous Republican members of Congress have visited sections of our border, as PJMedia reported here and here. When Joe Biden and...

The cartel that gunned down a North Carolina charter school teacher when he tried to rob one of their stash houses is one of the largest drug trafficking organizations on the planet - and has a penchant for violence, revenge and even cannibalism. The Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, or the New Generation Jalisco Cartel, has murdered judges, congressmen, cops and their own brethren in their bloody battle to control the US drug trade and stamp out competition, the Washington Post previously reported. Last week, authorities say cartel’s members turned their scopes on 40-year-old Barney Harris - a Spanish teacher and...

On eBay, buyers often hunt for hard-to-find items. Ismael Almada was one of them. Except that he was searching for military-grade weapons and accessories — and they weren’t for fun or sport. Almada and his brother, Carlos, used over 50 PayPal accounts to avoid suspicion. Steathily, they made purchases of tactical gear like grenade launchers, gun parts, night-vision goggles, and bullet-proof vests. Ismael was also using his mother’s credit card to make many of the purchases, he would later admit to the DEA. Then, the brothers provided the gear to New Generation — a fearsome cartel operating in Jalisco, Mexico....

The arrest of Mexico’s former defense minister, retired Gen. Salvador Cienfuegos, on drug and money laundering charges shakes one of the few Mexican institutions that had maintained the confidence of the people. Cienfuegos was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday at the request of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. He had been Mexico’s top military official during the presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto from 2012 to 2018. On Friday, López Obrador said Cienfuegos’ arrest was “regrettable.” He said he had been told that the charges against Cienfuegos would be announced in the United States Friday afternoon, but he confirmed...

Over the course of a week, law enforcement in Roma, Texas, documented two armed human smuggling incidents. One is particularly raising eyebrows among authorities. Most of Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, is now under the control of Los Zetas aka Cartel Del Noreste (CDN). This is leading to a shift in smuggling tactics. The first incident of concern took place on September 26, when a camera captured migrants crossing the border illegally. The image identified a red, four-door GMC truck. As law enforcement responded, the driver sped away until a bailout was performed. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure...
