IT'S FULL-COURT LEHMAN PRESSBy BRUCE GOLDING Posted: 3:26 am September 20, 2008 A legion of lawyers descended on bankruptcy court yesterday to pick over the bones of Lehman Brothers after one of the biggest business bust-ups in US history. More than 200 finance professionals jammed federal Judge James Peck's downtown courtroom where early today he approved a plan for the company to sell its investment banking and trading businesses to British bank Barclays. The deal was said to be worth $1.75 billion - but may now be worth closer to $1.35 billion given the drastic change in the company's net...

Sarah Palin has been the GOP veep candidate less than 72 hours, and already the liberals have begun assaulting her family. Specifically, her CHILDREN. You've seen the vile rumor (that Gov. Palin was "covering up" an alleged teen pregnancy by her daughter). Remember years ago, when a young Chelsea Clinton was mocked by some irresponsible people in the press? Cries came from all across the political spectrum, "Leave the children alone!" Now, however, with the attacks on Bristol Palin, NOT A WORD of "leave her alone" from the same Democrats who were so outraged by Chelsea's treatment.

The souvenir vendors outside Hillary Clinton's campaign appearances have added a new badge to their wares that reads "Chelsea in 2016" with a picture of the former first daughter. Attention, whether from badge sellers or the national media, is leaving the fading presidential candidacy of Senator Hillary Clinton behind as the former front-runner faces what most see as impossible odds to win the Democratic nomination. Now in the spotlight is her rival, fellow Senator Barack Obama, who has solidified his lead among Democrats and is setting his sights on Republican candidate John McCain in the November election. Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was Manchester United's hero as Sir Alex Ferguson's side claimed the club's third European Cup with a penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea on a night of almost unbearable drama in Moscow. As many had predicted, the competition's first all-English final ended in penalties and ultimately it was van der Sar's full-length save from Nicolas Anelka that ensured United won the shoot-out 6-5 after the match had ended 1-1 after extra-time. The triumph ensured ensured a season that has seen United mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster ended with both the Premier League...

Clinton has repeatedly refused to discuss the issue when campaigning for her mother, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton, calling questions about the Lewinsky matter none of the public's business. Next Clinton in the White House may be Chelsea By Tony Allen-Mills March 03, 2008 04:30am Article from: The Australian CHELSEA Clinton, once a gawky teenager, pictured between her parents and holding their hands as if to keep them together while having them a safe distance apart, has emerged as the family hope for dynastic succession – as Hillary's campaign falters. The 28-year-old has blossomed on Hillary's campaign, drawing admiring reviews from bloggers and senior Democrats ... and, of course, her parents. At campaign meetings on university campuses across the country, student audiences have been gasping at the confident, articulate,...

(CNN) – A few weeks ago, 21-year-old Wisconsin superdelegate Jason Rae was taken out to breakfast by Chelsea Clinton in the runup to that state’s Democratic primary. Two days after the vote, the college junior – who will be the youngest superdelegate at this year’s Democratic National Convention — is undecided no longer: he’s backing Barack Obama.“The Democratic Party is fortunate to have two very talented individuals running for President this election,” said Rae in a statement released by the Obama campaign Thursday. “It is a difficult choice for anyone, but in the end, the choice for me has become...

BC News' Jennifer Parker and Eloise Harper Report: Sen. The former first lady's daughter, Chelsea Clinton, works for New York-based hedge fund Avenue Capital Group. She previously worked in New York for McKinsey & Company, her first job after graduating with her master's degree from Oxford University.

The question was one she had heard before, but this time it was asked in downright hostile terms. “Has your mother shown any remorse for the fact that her vote cost Iraqis a million of their lives?” a student asked Chelsea Clinton on Monday at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ms. Clinton replied: “She cast a vote based on the best available evidence. Perhaps you had clairvoyance then, and that’s extraordinary.”

Chelsea Clinton tells students about her mother's plans for the economy and mortgages. The former first daughter outlines Hillary Rodham Clinton's concern about Darfur and women's rights. She ticks through talking points on electability, health care and the environment. Oh, and she reveals her mother wants grandkids and her father builds their schedule around a popular TV drama, "Grey's Anatomy." Chelsea Clinton has emerged as a top surrogate for her mother as the former first lady has fallen behind Sen. Barack Obama in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Now dispatched to college campuses, the long-silent Chelsea Clinton has...

Hillary Clinton should be nobody’s idea of a paragon of civil discourse in the political arena. Her personal style of political warfare is ruthless, a bare-knuckles fight to the death. Ask Ken Starr. Her idea of employee relations is also rough. Paul Fray, an Arkansas campaign worker said she cursed him out with F-bombs and ethnic slurs after Bill Clinton lost his one race for Congress in 1974. A co-worker told NBC News in 1999 that he heard cussing from Hillary that night like he’d never heard before. So it’s a little strange to see Hillary appearing so upset over...
