Actor Paul Giamatti gave U.S. Attorney John Durham some credit for informing his character on Showtime's Billions. The Hollywood star plays fictional U.S. Attorney-turned-New York Attorney General Chuck Rhoades, who is loosely based on former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, on the show, but Bharara isn't the only inspiration for the role. Speaking with GQ last week, Giamatti revealed that Durham influenced the portrayal of his character too. "There was a guy that was interesting to me early on, and his name is John Durham," he said. "And he’s actually the guy who William Barr tagged to do the investigation of...

Showtime’s Billions, a show that traditionally shied away from getting too political, has tossed its hat into the ring and joined the tirade of TV shows attacking the Trump administration. The third season premiere introduced Trump-appointed attorney general Waylon Jeffcoat (Clancy Brown), an evil, redneck Jeff Sessions parody who demanded that U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) refrain from prosecuting cases against Wall Street. In Sunday’s episode, “A Generation Too Late,” Jeffcoat demands that Rhoades prosecute an innocent man. As a result, Rhoades tells one of his colleagues: “We, the Maquisards, will mount the resistance. We will not let this...

The second season of Billions is in the books. Over 12 episodes, we saw casino deals go south, familial bonds stretched to their breaking points, and people violently vomiting up all-natural neon energy drinks. It was, to be clear, kind of a lot, and it all led to a pretty big moment for the show. Spoilers are a-comin’, obviously, so crack open an Ice Juice and buckle in. The time has come to talk Billions season two. After two seasons of taking Ls of varying sizes and shapes, Chuck finally caught Axe red-handed and had him carted off to jail...

On Showtime's "Billions," the character of U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is based on U.S. Attorney for Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara. In fact, the show itself is loosely based on Bharara's investigations of Wall Street. Well, Bharara was just fired from his job so the question is will Chuck Rhoades also be fired from his job on "Billions?" He almost got fired on "Billions" by an Attorney General obviously based on Loretta Lynch. In fact, he deserves to be fired because although he recused himself from the investigation of Hedge Fund manager Bobby Axelrod, he was secretly directing...
