Regarding Eugene Volokh’s post below about an NYU L. Rev. article, “The People” of the Second Amendment: Citizenship and the Right To Bear Arms. I just scanned the article, and there appears to be only a single footnote which directly cites any state statutes from before 1800. Note 125, accurately cites standard statutory compilations from Massachusetts and Connecticut for laws against selling firearms to Indians. Although the author is apparently unaware that by 1661 (Connecticut) and 1688 (Massachusetts) the laws were changed to allow gun sales (and even gun carrying in towns) by friendly Indians. The article suffers very severely...

CHICK-FIL-NO-THANK-YOU: Focus St. Louis and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce said today that they are canceling a planned presentation by Dan Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A, following complaints that Cathy and his company are involved with anti-gay organizations. Chick-fil-A, which is known for promoting a company vision of Christian values, was enmeshed in a controversy earlier this year involving an independent Chick-fil-A operator in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which is affiliated with the Family Resource Institute. The latter institute was recently designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center because of its anti-gay positions. The...

Clayton was talking to Rush yesterday about Barack Obama's ears. Clayton said "What do we gain by talking about his ears?" Rush explained that Maureen Dowd originally wrote a column about his ears and that Rush was responding to it. Clayton just kind of blew his answer off. Then again this morning Clayton again brings up the ears thing. "What does Rush gain by bringing up his ears?" BUT HE DIDN'T INCLUDE RUSH'S ANSWER! UGH! THAT'S SO ANNOYING! The other hosts didn't work the weekend so they didn't even know Rush had responded. Then he later called the Treasury Secretary...

Capitol Q&A How Many Democrat Conspiracy Theorists? In a March 25 interview with KPFA, a public radio station in Berkeley, Calif., Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia suggested President Bush withheld prior knowledge of the September 11 terrorist attacks so that his friends could profit from the war he knew would follow.Said McKinney: "We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11th. . . . What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11th? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of...
