Students at Hood College want a temporary display put up by the College Republicans chapter to be taken down early because they feel "threatened" by some of the "hateful" quotes from conservatives. The display was originally intended to encourage discussion on controversial issues such as abortion and gender identity, but is instead being met with criticism, anger, and even vandalism, The Frederick News-Post reports.

A Clemson administrator has proposed requiring student government candidates to pass an “intercultural competency” test before being permitted to run for or hold office. The “intercultural competency” test requirement for Student Government candidates who wish to run for office was just one of the ideas Altheia Richardson, Clemson’s Director of the Gantt Multicultural Center, proposed in a recent presentation to Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (CUSG) Senate. As an alternative, Richardson also suggested group training for CUSG members once elected.

Students at Western Kentucky University voted this week to give their black peers free tuition as a way to make amends for slavery, but administrators say it's not going to happen. The gender diversity flier obtained by Campus Reform, a website funded by the conservative nonprofit the Leadership Institute, was apparently handed out around Harvard's campus. The flier from the office of BGLTQ student life said for some 'gender is fluid and changing' and that 'can be affirmed and/or expressed in many ways'.

Pro-life students at Wilfrid Laurier University say they will no longer be able to put up their pro-life flag display, with campus leaders explaining such exhibits are too traumatic after one last fall caused an uproar on the Canadian campus. The San Diego State University student government voted Wednesday to keep the school’s Aztec warrior mascot, rejecting claims that the mascot is a symbol of cultural appropriation. Following a lengthy and acrimonious debate, the Associated Student Council voted 14-12-1 against a resolution that would have called on the school to drop the Aztec name and mascot, reports NBC 7 San Diego.

When Kennesaw State University held an event last week on privilege and interracial relations, it asked “those who identify as white” to go to one room and “those who identify as people of color” to go to another. “The goal of the workshop, which was led by an outside expert, was to foster learning and create an environment of understanding and support for one another,” said Kennesaw State University spokeswoman Tammy DeMel. “Attendees were asked to work together and then were invited to join the group with which they identify.”
