The seemingly unending rioting and violence has consumed the area around the courthouse for over seven weeks, and has at times even featured Portland’s mayor, Ted Wheeler, who was purportedly pepper-sprayed when he, along with other protesters, refused to disperse. The courthouse falls under the jurisdiction of federal authorities including the United States Marshals Service and the Department of Homeland Security, who has been criticized by some in the community for attempting to protect the building. I caught the CBS News evening report tonight for the first time in about 2 decades. They led off with a report of Sarah Palin's speech in Wisconsin, and they of course provided liberal spin. They claim there were far more liberals (i.e. union thugs) than Tea Partiers (claiming the thugs surrounded the smaller Tea Party crowd). Americans are on the verge of witnessing a political scandal not seen since the likes of Watergate. It is oh so ironic how history repeats itself, is it not. Because of his work on the House Un-America Activities Committee (HUAC) and for exposing communist Alger Hiss, liberals were determined from that day forward to destroy Richard Nixon.
