His disappearance 40 years ago is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in U.S. history, and now new evidence has emerged about Jimmy Hoffa’s possible fate. A mobster who was believed to be involved in the labor boss’s disappearance suggested before he died last year that the feds were on the right track when they searched a New Jersey dump for Hoffa’s remains, a bombshell report says. Investigative reporter Dan Moldea confirmed that the FBI searched the dump in 1975, looking for a 55-gallon drum they believed the Teamsters boss had been entombed in.

Countries run more efficiently when there is less government intervention. Government certainly has its role in providing a strong military, adequate border defense, police and fire protection, and education. Unfortunately government intervention in the free market has caused again and again more harm than good. And government has now become a Hydra that we fail to legally slay. Voting in a new government has been discouraging; it is now impossible to rid ourselves of the encroaching octopus with sharped-edged suckers.

I am hoping FReepers can help me out here, because I am having a difficult time understanding the reaction to the recently released videos regarding Planned Parenthood selling body parts. Pro-life people have been showing pictures of what happens at abortions for decades, and yet none of those pictures have ever produced the kind of reaction that the current videos are producing. Why is that? Is it because money is being made? Is it because a specific location is targeted? Is it because of the macabre sort of science-fiction aspect of body parts being bought and sold? Is it because...

Apparent airplane debris found off the coast of Reunion island, a French department in the western Indian Ocean, is being examined to see if it is connected to the 2014 disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a member of the French Air Force in Reunion said Wednesday. The debris was found off the coast of St. Andre, a community on the island, according to Adjutant Christian Retournat. “It is way too soon to say whether or not it is MH370. We just found the debris this morning,” Retournat said. He said the debris — what appears to be a wing...

Time magazine is out with a colorful and glossy “Inside the New Cuba” special edition, featuring smiling Cuban kids wearing Communist garb on the cover. Page 64 has a photo showing “Cuban fans” holding up “their national flag” at a baseball game. It turns out that the really happy Cubans are those who have been defecting from the island “paradise,” as Time magazine calls the prison camp country. Credit goes to Christine Rousselle of Townhall.com for covering these defections. They seem to be developing into a regular feature, with Rousselle providing regular updates about additional defections. So far, eight players...

The election of Obama was one more triumph of illusion over substance. It was a skillful manipulation and betrayal of the public by a corporate power elite. We mistook style and ethnicity - an advertising tactic pioneered by Calvin Klein and Benetton - for progressive politics and genuine change. I'm not going to keep quiet about this. Last November Florida residents defeated the medical marijuana bill at the polls. A Pyrhhic victory at best. On July 19 I wrote a detailed report and submitted it online at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office website. This is the Tampa area of Florida. My report documented the suspected existence of a single family detached residence rental home in our subdivision being used as a marijuana grow house by a drug gang. A tax search disclosed that the property is listed to an Oakland, California real estate management firm known as FETLAR LLC....

Interesting video....Author lays out a foundation for his case, and eventually gets to why he thinks Trumps life is in grave danger. He ties the JFK, RFK, and MLK assassinations together and brings it forward to Perot and now Trump. I think his basic premise is, if the Global Elite can't "own" the politicians, they will take them out.

Researchers at Oregon State have patented a new strain of seaweed that tastes like bacon when it's cooked. The seaweed, a form of red marine algae, looks like translucent red lettuce. It also has twice the nutritional value of kale and grows very quickly. Did we mention it tastes like bacon? According to Oregon State researcher Chris Langdon, his team started growing the new strain while trying to find a good food source for edible sea snails, or abalone, a very popular food in many parts of Asia. The strain is a new type of red algae that normally grows...

Is the debate about marriage over after the Supreme Court’s June decision to redefine marriage in all fifty states? That’s what some Amazon.com reviewers are insisting after a new book was released last week. The book, “Truth Overruled: The Future of Marriage and Religious Freedom,” is a roadmap from Ryan Anderson, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, on how the conservative movement can move forward in promoting marriage and protecting religious freedom after the Supreme Court’s ruling. “I wrote this book for all Americans. For those who disagree with me, to at least understand the viewpoint of roughly...

During a July 23 interview on the Lars Larson Show, Senator Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) said that in June he “submitted an amendment” to the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) “to give military base commanders the authority to allow service members to carry personal firearms.” That was weeks before the heinous attack on Chattanooga, but he says the amendment went nowhere because Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “didn’t want the amendment as part of the bill and wouldn’t accept it.” On July 21–just 5 days after the heinous attack in Chattanooga–Senator Heller re-introduced his amendment...

A Cambridge Professor has made the astonishing claim that three scientists investigating the melting of Arctic ice may have been assassinated within the space of a few months. Professor Peter Wadhams said he feared being labelled a “looney” over his suspicion that the deaths of the scientists were more than just an ‘extraordinary’ coincidence. But he insisted the trio could have been murdered and hinted that the oil industry or else sinister government forces might be implicated. The three scientists he identified - Seymour Laxon and Katherine Giles, both climate change scientists at University College London, and Tim Boyd of...

INDIANAPOLIS -- The city’s largest bank is closing branches on the city’s north and west sides, but some groups are crying foul. The Chase bank at 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets will close Aug. 20 and the branch at 38th Street and Washington Boulevard will close at the end of July. Both branches serve heavily concentrated minority communities. Some members of the city’s minority community have complained to members of the Indianapolis City-County Council and Congressman Andre Carson about the closures.

Usually, I google "Donald Trump" and hit the news button and sort by date...and there are stories within the last few minutes up to the last few hours. In fact, sometimes there are so many stories the first page doesn't even get to the stories that are more than an hour old.But today, there are very few stories and they are all old. The freshest is a story about Trump and John Stewart and it is over 2 hours old.Makes me wonder if Google is pulling a Glenn Beck.

WINTER HAVEN | Police are looking for a man who angrily launched himself head-first into the doors of a bus in Winter Haven on Saturday morning.
