ABC News / The Associated Press ^ | September 29, 2014 | Alan Scher Zagier, Associated Press
A drug case involving an arrest made by the Ferguson police officer who killed an unarmed 18-year-old in a separate incident is on hold while a grand jury reviews the shooting. A judge approved a request by prosecutors Monday to send the drug case involving the arrest by officer Darren Wilson to a St. Louis County grand jury. But a spokesman for Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch later said that the case is "on hold" until Wilson's status is resolved. Spokesman Ed Magee called the move standard procedure in cases where police officers are not immediately available to testify in court....

Self-described 'dissident feminist' Camille Paglia has written an op-ed piece for Time Magazine arguing that female college students are naive and careless about the true nature of men as sexual predators. Paglia, 67, a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, penned the column this week in reaction to the recent abduction of University of Virginia sophomore Hannah Graham, 18, who was last seen two weeks ago in the company of a 32-year-old nursing assistant. Jesse Matthew was captured in Texas last week and charged with abduction with intent to defile, but so far there is no sign...
  • CNN Media Reporter Shames Colleagues for Not Giving Sarah Palin Benefit of Doubt

    Breitbart's Big Journalism ^ | September 27, 2014 | Tony Lee
CNN's media reporter shamed his colleagues this week for rushing to judgment before all of the facts were in about a brawl involving the Palin family. The "sketchy" details of the fight in which the Palin family reportedly came to the defense of their eldest son were first spread by an anti-Palin blogger who admitted she neither had the time nor wanted to track down the facts. No need to bother, of course, when the "story" is salacious and the anti-Palin mainstream press will more than participate in the feeding frenzy if they think it will make Palin look bad....

The New Georgia Project, a group currently under investigation for “significant illegal activities” regarding voter-registration applications, began handing over subpoenaed documents on Friday, and says it’s reached an agreement to limit the scope of the documents it’s required to turn over. Georgia secretary of state Brian Kemp launched the investigation of the New Georgia Project earlier this month after receiving “numerous” complaints regarding applications submitted by the group, including forged signatures and applications. The investigation has turned up 33 fraudulent applications thus far, ahead of the thousands of pages of documents set to be turned over. The group is run...

Gov. Jerry Brown has signed legislation creating a new loan program for undocumented students in California’s public universities. California has already taken several steps to make college more affordable for undocumented students, including extending in-state tuition to undocumented immigrants who graduate from California high schools and making them eligible to apply for Cal Grant scholarships. Brown signed the bill on Sunday without comment.

Pot is one thing, but three ounces is a lot for a casual user and is usually reserved for dealers. Wait…. You weren’t selling that weed were you, Mark? And, then, amphetamines? Really? It’s no secret in Colorado that Sen. Mark Udall has some problems telling the truth. It’s probably also relatively well-known that Mark Udall admitted to The Rocky Mountain News (RIP) that he was arrested for possession of marijuana. But, here’s Sen. Udall’s dirty little secret – it wasn’t just marijuana and it was a little more complicated than he shrugged off in the Rocky. ... The punishment...

In order to secure an interview with George Zimmerman, CNN reportedly offered to put up Zimmerman and his brother, Robert, at the Ritz-Carlton for three nights and pay for “everything” else they needed. At the end of their stay, CNN was given a $3,600 tab that included a large room service bill, spa treatments and “swag” from the gift shop, according to GQ. When the bill was sent to a CNN producer, he reportedly told Robert Zimmerman, “You and your brother are evil!” More from the GQ profile on the Zimmermans: The Zimmermans seized on their brief stint of subsidized...

HOUSTON, Texas -- Gangs operating in Falfurrias, Texas have allegedly been the recipient of “a massive amount” of inbound wire transfers. The transfers are believed to be extortion payments to local gang members who allegedly kidnap illegal immigrants who are found hiking through the ranches of Brooks County to avoid the Falfurrias Border Patrol checkpoint. The immigrants are then held hostage until money is wired into the gang members – usually around one to three thousand dollars. The local gang members grab up the illegal immigrants they find on the roadways or in the ranches of Brooks County,” said Congressman...

  • HOLMES: Why the world is unmoved by Obama’s apologies

President Obama insulted many Americans last week when he raised events in Ferguson, Missouri, during his United Nations speech. They chafed at the implied moral equivalence of a shooting still in legal dispute with the many lethal foreign threats besieging the world. While such rhetoric is divisive at home, there is another problem. The president does not seem to understand that most of the world is completely unmoved by such apologies. Most of the world does not see an earnest moralist struggling with America’s complicated past or a humble man admitting his own foibles. Instead, they see a weak leader...

A national security staffer in the Obama administration said the president has been seeing 'highly accurate predictions' about the rise of the ISIS terror army since 'before the 2012 election' Obama insisted in his campaign speeches that year that America was safe and al-Qaeda was 'on the run' The president said during Sunday's '60 Minutes' program that his Director of National Intelligence had conceded he underestimated ISIS But the administration aide insisted that Obama's advisers gave him actionable information that sat and gathered dust for more than a year 'He knew what was at stake,' the aide said of the...

The man accused of beheading a great-grandmother in her back garden is a would-be cage fighter who converted to Islam five years ago, it has emerged. Nicholas Salvadore, 25, was charged late on Friday with the murder of 82-year-old Palmira Silva, who was hacked to death in an apparently random attack on Thursday afternoon. Mr Salvadore was also charged with assaulting a police officer. Mrs Silva is understood to have been attacked by a suspect who had argued with his flatmates minutes earlier, prompting them to flee in terror in a car as he smashed one of its windows. The...

Written Aug. 31, 2014 – Before recent days, who among us had ever heard of Ferguson, Missouri? Because of what happened there, the brief but intense experience of state repression, its name will be transmitted by millions of Black mouths to millions of Black ears, and it will become a watchword for resistance, like Watts, like Newark, Harlem and LA. But Ferguson wasn’t 60 years ago – it’s today. And for young Blacks from Ferguson and beyond, it was a stark, vivid history lesson – and also a reality lesson. When they dared protest the state street murder of one...

A Saudi Raqi (religious healer) raped a girl who visited him for treatment of a psychological illness after misleading her into believing her womb was haunted by the jinn (spirits), a newspaper reported on Monday. The Raqi in the capital Riyadh told the girl he has the powers to exorcise jinns in one session if she accepts his recipe at his home. Once the girl, whose age was not specified, surrendered to the man, he raped her, causing her to lose virginity, 'Arar' Arabic language daily said. Police arrested the Raqi after the girl realised her mistake and reported him...

Colleen Hufford was born in 1960. Life is full of grim twists and cruel vicissitudes, but in mid-20th century America it would not have occurred to anyone that one needed to worry about going to work and being beheaded by a colleague. Yet that's what happened to Ms Hufford on Thursday: She turned up for her job at at the Vaughan Foods food processing plant in Moore, and Alton Alexander Nolen decapitated her. Why would he do that? Well, as the initial reports were at pains to assure us, it's nothing to do with terrorism. That's true, in the sense...

Strict laws must be put in place to combat New York City’s massive tobacco smuggling problem, former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives Assistant Director Rich Marianos told The Daily Caller News Foundation.“Street gangs, narcotics crews, Russian and Asian organized crime networks, and terrorists are trading cigs for guns, narcotics — even humans,” Marianos, who was with the ATF for 27 years, said.NYC’s disproportionately high cigarette tax is allowing hardened criminals and even terrorists to fund illicit activity and make huge profits, with almost no risk, thanks to lax tobacco smuggling laws.Since 2006, the tax rate on NYC...
