AMARILLO — A miniature horse given to a boy with brain cancer by the Make-A-Wish Foundation was killed by a pair of pit bulls who were found roaming in his yard, authorities said. The 31-inch tall horse, Anniversary, was donated by the foundation to 3-year-old Christian Vasquez in late August. A 6-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pit bull Friday evening in a Pleasant Grove neighborhood. Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda said that Scott Warren was inside his home when the family's 1-year-old dog attacked at about 6 p.m. The pit bull responsible for Friday's attack was taken away from the house by Dallas animal control officers.
