For many, many years the corporate elite - the 1 percent - has been selling us on the idea of trickle down economics, i.e., if the 1 percent made money they would reinvest it back into the cities and communities and we would all benefit. Well, does anyone still believe that? I don't think so. But let's talk about what does trickle down - something never talked about by the corporate elite and something that has been missing from most if not all major media and the presidential debates - with a little exception on the part of Bernie Sanders....

The prospect of holding a second EU referendum could be debated in Parliament in coming weeks after a petition topped the 100,000 target within hours of the result being declared. It was so popular that the Government petition website hosting the motion crashed this morning. The petition demands the Government re-stage the referendum because the winning vote for Leave was less than 60 per cent and was based on a turnout of less than 75 per cent.

Early this morning we laid out the thoughts of RCB's Charlie McElligott on today's dramatic market action, which discussed not the blow up of "fat tail" quant stategies (something we touched upon later and which is likely to unleash even more quant-driven selling next week) and the "forced out" liquidations across the curve coupled with a rush into safety, but also the biggest question of all for today's trades - which macro funds are quietly blowing up? Now, we follow it up with a second piece by the RBC trader, one which those worried about being caught long risk over...

To say the last 24 hours have been historic could most certainly be an understatement. However, we can be certain a wounded global media will put every possible liberal, progressive, multicultural and socialist voice onto television and into print to push back against the visible rise of a growing nationalist sentiment. What has happened with the U.K. referendum is going to send reverberations around the globe; but this outcome should not come as a complete surprise to most CTH readers. What happened in Great Britain is the visible rise of their national Monster Vote.People from across political parties, conservative (Tory) and...

The Republican National Committee has released the list of the 112 members of the upcoming convention rules committee — a panel that will be the focal point of a struggle by anti-Donald Trump delegates to block the mogul's nomination at the Republican National Convention next month. But Trump foes hoping the panel will help their cause are in for a disappointment, as the roster is stacked with officials who publicly support making Trump the nominee.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) confronted Democrats during their gun control sit-in last night, shouting instead about the threat of radical Islam. "Radical Islam killed these people!" he yelled during a speech by Democrat Brad Sherman (CA), referring to the Orlando terror attack. A Democrat can be heard off-camera shouting at Gohmert: "Don't let terrorists have a gun!"

---snip--- The votes in the UK to get OUT of the EU were those of workers tired of seeing their jobs taken by immigrants who didn’t share the British tradition, culture, and spirit. Many of our neighbors across the pond have felt they were losing their country and culture and that unrestricted immigration was changing their nation. It didn’t help that those wanting to stay in the EU branded the “out” group as racists or xenophobes. It was that many long time subjects of the British empire felt that their country was being lost to those who came to claim...

President Barack Obama announced Friday he was designating the area around the Stonewall Inn in New York City as the country's first national monument to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights. "This week I'm designating the Stonewall National Monument as the newest addition to America's national park system," Obama said in a video released by the White House on Friday. "I believe our national parks should reflect the full story of our country -- the richness and diversity and uniquely American spirit that has always defined us, that we are stronger than ever. That out of many, we are...

LONDON — British voters didn’t just shock the world and the financial markets by voting to leave the European Union hours ago: They also ignored President Barack Obama, handed Hillary Clinton a potential economic burden and injected new energy into the populist currents roiling politics on both sides of the Atlantic. The surprise 52 percent - 48 percent result in favor of leaving the European Union — which British networks projected just before 5 a.m. local time — came after a tense night of vote-counting throughout the United Kingdom. British Prime Minister David Cameron later announced he's resigning, citing a...

A man calling himself WIld Bill described his support for Israel in a video that is going viral. ..... "So in the traditional Muslim style, they sent in massive armies to massacre the Jews and steal their land. But the Israelis stomped the living doogy-doo out of them and sent the Arabs fleeing back across the border like a bunch of whipped puppy dogs. And they've been afraid of the Israelis ever since. "But prior to the invasion, the Arabs warned all the Jordanians, Syrians and Lebanese living in Israel to get out. They constantly told them that within a...

Thursday June 23,2016 will go down in history as Britain's Independence Day. The Europhile elite has been defeated. Britain points Europe the way to its future and to liberation. It is time for a new start, relying on our own strength and sovereignty. Also in the Netherlands. A recent survey (EenVandaag, Dutch television) shows that a majority of the Dutch want a referendum on EU membership. It also shows that more Dutch are in favor of exit than of remaining in the EU. The Dutch people deserve a referendum as well.....

A Democrat-backed measure that would give California the nation’s toughest restrictions on ammunition and allow the seizure of magazines exceeding 10 rounds has qualified for the state ballot. The California Secretary of State’s office announced Thursday that the Safety for All initiative, championed by Democratic Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, had gathered the petition signatures necessary for a slot on the Nov. 8 ballot. “Enough massacres, death, tears, and hate – it’s time to take action and save lives,” Mr. Newsom said in the Sacramento Bee. “The Safety for All initiative gives California voters the opportunity to keep guns and ammo...

A lawyer for Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona’s Maricopa County, who first challenged Barack Obama’s immigration amnesty strategy that was blocked on Thursday by the U.S. Supreme Court, says it is good the justices “stood up to an out-of-control president who rules like he is King George III in 1776.” The court was split 4-4 so the resulting ruling is that the decision from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is left standing. That affirmed a lower court’s decision that Obama could not implement an expanded amnesty program with orders from his agencies and departments. WND had broken the...

Analysis President Barack Obama’s ambitious plan to overhaul U.S. immigration policy for millions of foreign nationals living in the U.S. came close to crashing down Thursday in a Supreme Court decision so brief that it was barely mentioned by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. If the policy is not yet entirely doomed, it could be after it is formally returned to a federal judge in Brownsville, Texas, who is sure to be guided by an appeals court ruling that already has said, in essence, that the government probably will lose. Technically, the policy might have another test before the...

Greg Nash Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Thursday cut the legs out from a bipartisan effort to keep suspected terrorists from buying guns. In doing so, McConnell, a master of the Senate’s arcane rules, provided cover for vulnerable Republicans who wanted to be seen as supporting the effort, but did not want to cross the National Rifle Association. “The scenario that Sen. McConnell set up was textbook McConnell,” said Brian Darling, a former Senate Republican aide. McConnell had promised a vote this week to Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) on her bipartisan measure barring people on two key...

Erin O’Flaherty made history when she became the first openly gay to win the Miss Missouri contest. As the pageant queen moves on to this year’s Miss America competition in September, she will stand as the contest’s first openly lesbian contestant. Reportedly, 23-year-old O’Flaherty declared her sexual orientation since she was 18 as openly gay throughout her pageant career. After winning the Miss Missouri competition in Mexico, Missouri, Ann Jolly, chairman of the board of the Miss Missouri Scholarship Organization, reportedly confirmed that O’Flaherty is the first LGBT contestant to win the title. “I’m on cloud nine, really, just to...

This happened after Gulf War I. Story reported back in May of this year but I could not find it posted here at FR.When Corporal Ryan Stickney and 200 of his fellow Marines prepared to return to their families after Operation Desert Storm in 1991, a logistics error forced them to turn to a surprising source for a ride home: Donald J. Trump. Today, Stickney would like to say "thank you." Stickney (left), was a squad leader in a TOW company of a Marine reserve unit based in Miami, FL and spent approximately six months in Saudi Arabia during the...
