Numbers showing the majority of Alberta's COVID-19 hospital admissions are in vaccinated individuals don't tell the entire story, regardless of what some conspiracy theorists believe. Albertans with at least one shot took over more hospital beds than those without this week. But the raw numbers are incomplete, and a dive into the data shows being vaccinated may be more important now than ever before. As of Thursday, 217 unvaccinated Albertans were in hospital with COVID-19, compared to 282 patients with at least one shot. But almost 90 per cent of the province has one dose, which means the "rate per...

Although there are many things that characterize the year 2021, perhaps nothing is more conspicuous than the deep lack of trust that Americans currently have in their national leadership. From the president to the CDC, from Dr. Fauci to the media, almost everyone is viewed with suspicion and mistrust.Of course, it would be all too easy for those on the left to blame this on former president Trump. After all, wasn’t he the one driving the “stop the steal” movement? And didn’t he make clear that, not even the Supreme Court could be trusted? But to blame the current situation on...

For Immediate ReleaseTuesday, October 5, 2021Office of Press Relationspress@usaid.govToday, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is launching an ambitious new project that will work with partner countries and the global community to build better preparedness for future global health threats. Discovery & Exploration of Emerging Pathogens - Viral Zoonoses (DEEP VZN), a five-year, approximately $125 million project (pending availability of funds), will strengthen global capacity to detect and understand the risks of viral spillover from wildlife to humans that could cause another pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated how infectious diseases threaten all of society, up-ending people’s lives and...

“Because I’m vaccinated I’m pretty relaxed,” said Kristen Gallagher while waiting to get tested. “The only reason I’m doing it now is ’cause last night I saw the line and I was terrified.” Another woman said she is already vaccinated and recovered from a breakthrough case, but she was recently exposed to the virus, so she is getting tested. “I’m so scared, so I decided to make an appointment to get tested, just in case,” she said. No long lines have been reported at testing sites in Broward County, but 7News cameras captured a steady flow of drivers pulling into...

New COVID-19 cases in South Africa have tripled in three days, according to new figures released by the country's health ministry on Thursday, sparking concerns over the spread of the new omicron variant. South Africa is entering its fourth wave of COVID-19 infections due to the omicron variant, Phaahla added at a media briefing on Friday. He said that the infections with the new variant have been detected in seven out of the country's nine provinces. Since omicron was first detected in the country eight days ago, cases have risen steadily, he said on Friday.

Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted Tuesday that the global case tally for Omicron will “change rapidly” as it spreads around the world. The White House chief medical adviser said at a briefing that the latest COVID-19 variant has already proven it spreads at a fast pace by sweeping all of the provinces in South Africa, where it was first detected by scientists last week before popping up elsewhere. “Confirmed cases as of yesterday were 205 in 18 countries, and just this morning, that’s gone up to 226 in 20 countries — and I think you’re going to expect to see those...

Imperial College yet again panics the masses. What a small world we live in. The “Nu variant” scare you keep hearing about is coming from the same people and institutions that spawned the last COVID scare, and the one before that, and the one before that one, dating back all the way to the onset of COVID Mania. [Update: the World Health Organization has now labeled this strain the “Omicron variant,” in noticeably skipping over “Xi” in the greek alphabet] The corporate press and world governments have produced an incredible amount of noise about a claimed new COVID variant, the...

Americans should pay attention to the severe coronavirus-related restrictions on civil liberties in Australia, Canada and now Austria, said the inventor of the mRNA vaccine technology, warning the virus increasingly is becoming a "platform for advancing other agendas." "The future of global totalitarianism is here, it's just not evenly distributed," said Dr. Robert Malone, an immunologist and virologist who researched the use of messenger RNA in vaccines at the Salk Institute in the 1980s. He said in an interview Monday with Steve Bannon's "War Room" that Austria -- the first country to require that every citizen be vaccinated -- is...

Jordan Peterson says he spoke to a senior government adviser who told him Canada’s COVID restriction policies are completely driven by opinion polls and not science. “In relation to the COVID restrictions, I talked to a senior adviser to one of the provincial governments a couple of weeks ago,” said Peterson. “He told me flat out that the COVID policy here is driven by nothing but opinion polls related to the popularity of the government,” he added. “No science, no endgame in sight, no real plan, and so what that means is that the part of the population that is...

The politically motivated and unprecedented overreaction to a virus with a 99.5% survival rate was launched in March of 2020, thus unleashing what can best be described as a once-in-a-century fiasco. Nineteen months later it is impossible to look at the United States and the world and not conclude that this country and much of the West is in the grip, not of a virus, but of delusional madness and malevolence. The governing elites have been so successful in propagandizing and fear-mongering the populace in many western nations, including the United States, that the virus has made far too many...

The latest round of national media pandemic messaging is targeted and intentional. The objective is fear… and the scale of the narrative pushed by the national media toward that effort is large. Conversely, the same media objective is to Alinsky those who would be a visible push-back against COVID fear, and that is why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is being targeted. In the background of this effort is the California recall of Gavin Newsom. The governor and national allied media are working together to weaponize the fear of COVID as a closing message against the recall effort. Newsom’s latest commercials...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) recall election rhetoric took a hyperbolic turn this week, warning voters that his battle to remain in office is a “matter of life or death.” Newsom’s latest campaign ad, released Monday, puts the election in blunt terms: “What’s at stake in the Sept. 14 recall? It’s a matter of life and death,” the narrator says. The ad calls [Larry] Elder “the top Republican candidate” and highlights his opposition to mask and vaccine mandates.

According to studies: ADE can make vaccinated people more susceptible to serious infection from the virus "ADE may be a concern" for those who have been vaccinated for Covid-19 With ADE, after people get vaccinated for an initial virus, infection by a subsequent variant or strain of the virus can result in "increased viral replication and more severe disease, leading to major safety risks" ADE can also "occur when neutralizing antibodies (which bind the virus and stop it from causing infection) are present at low enough levels that they don't protect against infection. Instead, they can form immune complexes with...

As much of the Northern Hemisphere continues to bake in a year of unprecedented heat waves linked to climate change, one paradoxical consequence of rising global temperatures is that some areas of the world could become much colder. A study published this month by researchers at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research found that the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) current system could be on the verge of collapse. The conveyor belt system transports warm surface ocean water from the tropics, up along the coast of Florida to the northern Atlantic Ocean. Colder water sinks and is moved along...

Achieving herd immunity with Covid vaccines when the highly infectious delta variant is spreading is “not a possibility,” a leading epidemiologist said. Experts agree on several reasons why such a goal — where overall immunity in a population is reached and the spread of the virus is stopped — is not likely. Sir Andrew Pollard, head of the Oxford Vaccine Group, told British lawmakers Tuesday that as Covid vaccines did not stop the spread of the virus entirely — with vaccinated people still able to be infected and transmit the virus — the idea of achieving herd immunity was “mythical.”...

As the pandemic took hold, a Kansas City-area meeting and event planning business began hawking “I Shake Hands” stickers to help ease awkward social encounters. “We didn’t want the sticker to say, ‘We Don’t Shake Hands’ because that is kind of off-putting,” said John DeLeon, vice president of operations and sales at MTI Events, adding that the idea was that anti-shakers could simply choose not to wear one of the stickers. “But if someone had the sticker on in that group, then that was the indication that it was OK.” Now, as workers return to the office, friends reunite and...

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’s office slammed the Biden administration Monday after White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made false claims about DeSantis’s handling of the pandemic in Florida.... “Government mandates do not work to stop COVID-19,” [DeSantis spokesperson] Pushaw added. “The empirical evidence supports his position on this.” Pushaw highlighted the following examples:
