Part of Officer's Uniform Burned During a Declared Riot       WASHINGTON – Alanna Rogers, 26, of Baltimore, MD, was arraigned yesterday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on a criminal complaint charging her with felony assault on a police officer while armed and misdemeanor rioting based on her throwing a firework at police officers, burning the trousers of one police official, during a declared riot that took place on August 30 and carried over to August 31, 2020, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Michael R. Sherwin. Although Rogers was not charged when...

A second source has confirmed the fireworks’ presence, which was also the subject of media reports in Lebanon on Friday. The claim that fireworks were being stored in the same warehouse as the ammonium nitrate appears to be confirmed by phone footage, apparently filmed by a port worker from the roof of the grain silos that overlooked the seat of the biggest blast – now a 150-metre-wide crater of seawater. In the brief section of footage posted on social media, a long warehouse – running parallel to the grain silo and separated by a road – is visible, with smoke...

Portland police chief Chuck Lovell slammed “incomprehensible” violence on Thursday after rioters moved to target city police precincts. **SNIP** “Last night’s violence by rioters at our east precinct was incomprehensible,” Lovell said at a virtual press conference on Thursday. “We have people who are intentionally planning to go out and attack precincts, trap people inside, [and] set fires to these buildings.” Lovell continued, “We have nightly violence where officers get mortars thrown at them, rocks, commercial grade fireworks, and these senseless attempts to injure officers and destroy police facilities [are] reprehensible and [they] need to stop.” Lovell said that the...

A Brooklyn woman who followed Borough President Eric Adams’ advice for New Yorkers to settle disputes neighbor-to-neighbor rather than calling 911 wound up shot dead after she confronted some punks setting off illegal fireworks, the victim’s grieving mom said. Shatavia Walls, 33, was blasted eight times in an East New York public-housing complex on July 7, simply for asking the fiends to take their dangerous display away from a group of playing kids exactly how Adams had urged constituents to act in the face of the pyrotechnic plague. “She watched the news. Yes, she heard it,” Helen Testagros, Walls’ heartbroken...

Just caught a few minutes of it. Some young, black activist talking about the nation needing to work on its promises followed immediately by "Lady A" (Gee, they get picked shortly after they sided with the left and dropped the Antebellum. I'm sure that's just a coincidence...). Now it's the Black Eyed Peas. Won't be watching a second more. Usual pop culture trash with an extra serving of leftist nonsense. No thanks.

A decade after being banned amid concerns about wildfires and groundwater pollution, and despite protests by Native Americans and recommendations from public health officials to avoid public gatherings, fireworks will once again be exploding over Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of western South Dakota on Friday, anticipating the Fourth of July.

This celebration should be inspiring. Will it be broadcast?

The skies are forecast to be clear in the Bay Area on Saturday, even in San Francisco that has a reputation for being socked in with fog on July 4. Despite the fireworks-friendly forecast, there won't be any dazzling displays of color lighting up San Francisco Bay. Fireworks shows across the region are cancelled to discourage large gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic. None of the big annual shows at the Berkeley Marina, Marin County Fair, Sausalito waterfront and San Francisco's Aquatic Park will take place. Small-town celebrations—including fireworks, parades and festivals—have also been cancelled.

Video has emerged showing a large group of people causing a late-night disturbance in Brooklyn by shooting dozens of fireworks into the sky, amid a citywide crackdown on the illegal explosives. Witness Christopher Maslanka was driving through Crown Heights on June 16 when a 'mob of 50 to 60 people' emerged and began setting fireworks alight in the middle of the road. Maslanka captured the incident on video which showed the crowd marching down the street while firing off multiple Roman candles into the air in an elaborate display lasting about two minutes long.

The thunderous sound of fireworks — their blasts sudden, deafening and often terrifyingly similar to gunfire — have reverberated throughout the Bay Area in recent weeks. Residents in the big cities and even in the quieter suburbs report the explosions started over Memorial Day weekend and have persisted through June, waking them in the night, interrupting their babies' naps and scaring their pets. Fireworks packaging has been found around Lake Merritt in Oakland, and Nextdoor boards and Twitter are filling up with news of the booms and bangs in San Francisco. "I’m losing my mind," said SF resident J. Barry....

I've previously posted on this topic; my dad was NYPD for 23 years (retired in '89) and I have two nephews who are presently NYPD. One was involved with the riots at Herald Square earlier this month and made three arrests. He was also at the Barkley Center the first night of the protest and Union Square during the riots. Here's the latest directly from his mouth: 1- A member of his precinct (the 42nd)was followed home by a group of thugs as his shift ended. The thugs were making gang signs (the belief was to bring in other gang...

This is the shocking moment a 66-year-old homeless man was attacked with a firework as he slept on a New York street. Video footage shows a man light up the explosive before hurling it in the direction of a blanket.

New Yorkers fed up with Mayor Bill de Blasio's inaction in dealing with the noise caused by late-night fireworks that are being set off illegally throughout the city staged a protest outside Gracie Mansion on Monday. Motorists lined up along East End Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan around midnight late on Monday and honked their horns continuously hoping to get the message across to the mayor. 'If we cannot sleep, we will not let the mayor sleep,' New York City Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who addressed a crowd of protesters on Monday, said.

Unless you have been living on different planet, you should be fully aware that America is currently under attack. You have probably also read or overheard many reports of illegal fireworks and explosions that are currently taking place throughout many different US cities. If you do a google search for "fireworks complaints" you will find countless articles posted just in the last week or so. Most of these news reports are local, since local news is far more likely to have boots on the ground and residents reporting an accurate assessment as to what is actually going on. However, national...

The Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams on Sunday urged residents to not call 911 to report the skyrocketed use of illegal fireworks that have overwhelmed the city as some view them as a form of nonviolent protests. Americans in other cities have been kept up all through the night by the sound of booming fireworks for the past three weeks. New Yorkers, gripped with tension since the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic and volatile clashes over police brutality, has discovered a new way to express their frustrations: setting off scores of booming fireworks into the wee hours of the morning...
