Four weeks ago I ran in the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon; I thoroughly enjoyed the city and the race. Of course, when I told people my intention to run Cleveland, they asked "Why Cleveland." The short answer was that some friends of mine invited me to join them, and secondly, I wanted to run a spring marathon. So Cleveland it was. This group has been flying under radar for a while: Run Against Bush. I've posted information here about the TV commercial they're filming on June 22 in New York. There is another media event just ripe for a visit from any interested Wisconsin FReepers two days before that on Fathers Day, June 20.(Wish I could make it.) This morning I ran a half-marathon (13.miles) in St. Charles, IL. Ironically, a northern Illinois town that in the early 20th century probably wasn't too different than Dixon, IL, Ronaldus Maximus' boyhood home. Though about that during the race. So here I am at the start, and I see a light blue pastel shirt with "Run Against Bush.Org" and "Running for Change." I find it quite amusing that it's not "Running for Kerry," this guy can only be against Bush. Doesn't say much for John Fn Kerry. Turns out that there are these "Run Against Bush" groups in 48 states....
