The Public Interest Legal Foundation has alerted the Justice Department to a gambit by Texas Democrats to get non-citizens to vote. The state party sent out a voter registration form asking non-citizens to sign up, with the citizenship box already checked "yes." Washington Times: The Public Interest Legal Foundation alerted district attorneys and the federal Justice Department to the pre-checked applications, and also included a signed affidavit from a man who said some of his relatives, who aren't citizens, received the mailing. If you get your news from the media, then you will have heard that Jamal Khashoggi was a heroic reform who sought freedom for the region, and was brutally murdered to the strains of hip-hop music by a legion of Saudi assassins. And it was all recorded on his Apple Watch. Julian Assange is launching legal action against Ecuador, accusing its government of violating his "fundamental rights and freedoms". It comes after Ecuador cut off communications for Mr Assange, who has been living inside the country's London embassy for more than six years. WikiLeaks claims Mr Assange's access to the outside world has been "summarily cut off" and says Ecuador has threatened to remove the protection he has had since being given political asylum. This investigation has been dropped, but Mr Assange fears he could be extradited to the US over WikiLeaks' publishing of huge amounts of classified information. Lawyers for...

Brussels (AFP) - A European Union summit this week broke up with little progress towards a Brexit deal, just months before Britain is due to leave the bloc on March 29, 2019. EU leaders agreed to keep talking but refused to confirm a special meeting in November to seal the agreement, pushing any possible deal back to a December summit. Before that, British Prime Minister Theresa May must win a parliamentary vote on her government's budget on November 1, a test of her ability to get the final Brexit deal approved. Here is an outline of what could happen next:

Carly Fiorina said on Thursday that President Donald Trump has reached “a new low” with his recent attacks on Stormy Daniels, a porn star who claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and has sued him for defamation. “I think the habit of insulting one’s political enemies is unfortunately long standing in this country, and he has brought it to a new low ― a fine art,” Fiorina told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “There’s no question that in politics personal insults work and they rile people up,” Fiorina said, adding that she thinks the insult “diminishes” the Oval Office....

SANTA MONICA, California — Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams looks thoughtful in in the lobby of a beachfront hotel on a sunny Thursday afternoon as he tells me that the phrase “jobs not mobs,” which he suggested on Twitter six days before, would be catchy — though he adds that Republicans had not yet used it. Literally minutes later, President Donald Trump tells a rally in Montana: “Democrats produce mobs. Republicans produce jobs.” The president tweets soon afterwards: “#JobsNotMobs.”

The first debate in a Senate race that could shape up to be one of the most critical in the country was largely an argument over which candidate would be less beholden to politics and stand up more for the people of North Dakota.

Hernandez took the witness stand and answered several questions, telling the court she has been on anxiety medication since getting in trouble for posting on social media that she would 'shoot up' the high school. Back in August, Hernandez was sentenced to three years probation for making the terroristic threat. After her sentencing, she was taken back into federal custody. She was in the country protected under...

Rosie O’Donnell, a notorious critic of President Trump, said Thursday she wants the U.S. armed forces to remove him from the White House. “I want to send the military to the White House to get him,” O’Donnell said on MSNBC, as host Nicolle Wallace discussed Trump’s threats to have the military “close” the U.S.-Mexico border amid reports a massive migrant caravan is en route to the area. The former talk show host also reflected on a previous suggestion to impose martial law to delay President Trump’s inauguration. “When he was elected what I wrote on Twitter was we should impose...

I just remembered why that Vatican document calling for global government for the greater good of all hit such a nerve: it reminded me of “Windswept House,” the Malachi Martin novel from the mid-1990s. Any of my readers ever read that book? It was very popular with conservative Catholics when it came out. I started it, but didn’t get very far. I do recall that it was widely discussed at the time in conservative and traditionalist Catholic circles. The late Malachi Martin (d. 1999) was a fascinating figure. He was a former Jesuit priest, Vatican insider, and, by the end...

Desperate to defend Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s disastrous political stunt of taking a DNA test to try to prove Native American heritage, late Thursday morning, MSNBC Political Analyst and SiriusXM Director of Progressive Programming Zerlina Maxwell actually insinuated that the Cherokee Nation was racist, following their statement condemning Warren. Noting that Warren “long claimed that she’s part Cherokee,” anchor Craig Melvin cited: “Cherokee Nation, Secretary of State Cherokee Nation, said in a statement, ‘DNA testing cannot prove that Warren is Cherokee or any other tribe.’” The host asked: “Do we think that the decision itself was a mistake? Do we...

Election Day is just under three weeks away, and the contours of the political landscape are growing clearer. Democrats are poised to make major gains in the suburbs, putting them in commanding position to retake the House majority. The biggest unknown is whether Democrats will ride a huge anti-Trump tidal wave, or whether late Republican engagement can limit their losses. In the Senate, the fight over Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation nationalized the election in the red-state battlegrounds, significantly boosting the fortunes of several GOP challengers. Last month, Democrats looked like they could cut into the GOP’s razor-thin 51-49 majority...

FBI agents this week raided the municipal offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico – rooting through documents and seizing digital records as part of a widespread investigation into fraud and obstruction of justice charges tied to the city government. San Juan’s purchasing division was the target of the raid. And while FBI special agent Douglas Leff did not implicate Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz in the raid, he did tell local media that “we are going to follow the investigation where it leads us.”Cruz tweeted Tuesday that she has instructed city officials to cooperate with federal authorities and said, “If someone...

Two Christian filmmakers appeared before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Paul Tuesday to challenge Minnesota state law which they say illegally forces them to produce and create films expressing messages that contradict their core beliefs. Telescope Media Group owners Carl and Angel Larsen have already been threatened with hefty fines and up to 90 days in jail if they choose to disregard the law. The Larsens want to enter the wedding industry. However, the state's Human Rights Act stipulates if the couple creates films celebrating their Christian beliefs about marriage – that marriage is between one man...
