In September, the Florida Supreme Court sent an unequivocal message by unanimous vote to Gov. Jeb Bush and the Legislature that their hastily passed law to extend the life of Terri Schiavo was unconstitutional. In a side note, the court left the door ajar for an appeal. The governor apparently took little heed of the court's first message and decided on an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. That's too bad.
