The suit, announced by the EEOC on Sept. 21, alleged that Bass Pro, since at least November 2005, has been denying qualified blacks and Hispanics retail positions such as cashier, sales associate, team leader, supervisor and manager. The lawsuit specifically cited incidents at Bass Pro locations in Texas, Louisiana and Indiana. Founded in the early 1970s, Missouri-based Bass Pro operates 58 stores throughout the United States and Canada. Bridgeport is one of four more planned locations.
