Six days a week for the past four decades, 67-year-old Daniel Jackson has shown up to work at New Orleans cemeteries. He's seen lightning strike stone angels and hurricanes topple tombstones. He's buried toddlers, Katrina victims, convicted killers and his own siblings. And on a recent spring day, he lounges in a plastic chair wedged in the shade of Carrollton Cemetery and describes his longtime profession as "quiet and peaceful." Jackson's former boss, Henry Nelson, who hung up his own shovel years ago, sits with his legs crossed next to him and stares out at a labyrinth of weathered tombstones....

Being that the trucks are no longer competing head to head, this is more a question of fan loyalty and perhaps one that splits down the lines of age. Kids who attending the Monster Jam events coast to coast see Anderson or one of the gaggle of drivers that pilot the trucks at multiple simultaneous events may not even know what the Bigfoot truck is, while older monster truck fans may remember all the movie and television appearances made by ‘Foot and its racing dominance back in the day.

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1986597.html Gravedigger buried himself A Dutch gravedigger had a lucky escape after he accidentally buried himself. The 62-year-old man, from Nieuwleusen, was digging a grave in Zwolle cemetery when it happened, reports Gva.be. A trailer containing the earth he had removed tipped over and fell into the grave, knocking over the man and covering him completely. Luckily, a workmate was able to move the trailer and uncover the gravedigger's face to let him breathe. He called the fire brigade who managed to free the man after an hour. He was unhurt apart from a bump on the head.

BRUSSELS - The mourning parents of a traffic accident victim who visited their son’s grave near Antwerp were shocked to find the local gravediggers enjoying their annual barbecue at the graveyard. Workers at the cemetery in Merksem had music playing and their children were running around near the graves, De Morgen newspaper said Wednesday. The parents called the police. Antwerp city hall said it had never granted permission for the Friday night party.
