TORONTO - Can the Great One score votes, too? Wayne Gretzky is joining Conservative leader Stephen Harper on the federal election campaign trail. The Tory campaign announced late Thursday that Harper will be participating in an event with Gretzky at the Carlu in Toronto Friday at 6 p.m. It isn’t the first time this year that the hockey legend has helped a right-wing Canadian politician with an assist. Earlier this year, Gretzky skated into the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership campaign with an endorsement of Patrick Brown.

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Having staked his reputation on strong economic management, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has decided that the best way to win re-election when the headlines say recession is to convince the country it is no longer in one. Tuesday brought the worst kind of news for a prime minister campaigning for a rare fourth term in office: government data that confirmed Canada's economy contracted for the second quarter in a row, the technical definition of recession. But Harper shrugged off the data from the first half of the year, saying Canada had a "couple of weak months,"...

Various people have asked me why I will not vote for Stephen Harper and the Conservatives in this election. While the Cons’ failure to seriously tackle the deficit, reduce the size of government and begin to dismantle the Liberal state are all good reasons, I probably would hold my nose one more time if it were not for one, fundamental fact: C-51. And I might have even given Harper a pass on C-51 if I didn’t know the Conservative record on free speech, the perversion of the Human Rights Commission and the legal thuggery which attended it. Connie Fournier and...

Once it is established a person travelled to a forbidden designated area, the onus is on them to convince intelligence agencies they were there for a legitimate un-terror related purpose Earlier this week Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced if his Conservative Party retains power after the October 19 federal election, legislation would be introduced to ban travel to certain “designated areas.” Those who travel to these areas and cannot prove they did so for a legitimate non-terror related reason, will be subject to criminal prosecution. It is already a crime in Canada to participate in or aid a terrorist group....

Adbusters magazine—the flagship of the Canadian non-profit Adbusters Media Foundation that spawned Occupy Wall Street (OWS)—is out to take down Stephen Harper’s Conservative Government in October elections. The magazine that calls all restless millennials to arms in a revival of 1960-styled protests for ultimate Marxist takeover—is printed in the United States. The message of its 100,000 international circulation, found mostly in corner convenience stores like 7-Eleven is a clarion call to Marxism: “Let the Global Revolution Begin”, “Cultural Revolution is Our Business”. Adbusters lure to disaffected youth of the day is the raunchy: “Having fun, Kicking #”. (Canada Free Press,...

White House occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron With the mega ironies of our tumultuous times in competition for top spot, it must be The Irony of Ironies that Obama and his minions are down to a ‘Tee’ exactly what they accuse America of being: despicable bullies of the world. First seizing then standing on sanctimony and Projection 101 are Commandments 1 and 2 in Marxist ideology. History shows that whenever Marxists make it into high office, they seize the moral high ground from which they lecture the masses from bully pulpits provided by the media of...

When asked about new firearms legislation at an event in Saskatoon, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said there are too many restrictions on gun ownership, which he added is important for the livelihoods of rural people, recreation and personal safety according to CTV. “My wife’s from a rural area and obviously gun ownership wasn’t just for the farm, but was for a certain level of security when you’re a ways away from immediate police assistance,” he said during a question-and-answer session with the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities.

Toronto Imam: CanadaÂ’s PM Harper “an enemy of Islam” This is tantamount to a call for his murder. “Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land.” (QurÂ’an 5:33) “Toronto imam: CanadaÂ’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper ‘is the enemy of Islam,'” by Jonathan Halevi, Alternative Angle, February 7, 2015 (thanks to Blazing Cat Fur): Shaykh Said Rageah (الشيخ سعيد راجØ)...

An unpublished novel by Harper Lee is to finally see the light of day, 60 years after the US author put it aside to write To Kill a Mockingbird. Go Set a Watchman, which features the character of Scout as an adult, will be released on 14 July. Lee wrote it in the mid-1950s but put it aside on the advice of her editor. "I thought it a pretty decent effort." said Lee in a statement. "I am humbled and amazed that this will now be published after all these years."

Sgro, Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are just not ready for prime time Liberal MP Judy Sgro gave an interview to The Hill Times in which she gave her opinion as to why the Islamic State poses a threat to Canada. Seems it is all Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s fault. Harper has stood out on the world stage for recognizing ISIS for what it is; Islamic (that’s right composed of Muslims) jihadis tasked with the mission of attacking the West including Canada because of our values and their desire to build a worldwide caliphate. The Liberal MP seems...

Prime Minister Stephen Harper delivered his annual Christmas message to Canadians in a YouTube message on Dec. 24. Sitting in front of a fully decorated Christmas tree and roaring fire, Harper touts Canada's strong economy, and that the country is known around the world "for doing what is good and right and for protecting the vulnerable, promoting peace and defending the freedom of all people." He asks all Canadians to take a break from the Christmas festivities to say a prayer for the country's men and women in uniform serving "in harm's way," especially those fighting the Islamic State. You...

O Canada! Canada's Harper to Putin: 'I guess I'll shake your hand, but you need to get out of Ukraine' Quite the contrast from when Obama ran into him in China last week, Canada’s Stephen Harper apparently has no hesitation about letting it be known what he and his country think of Vladimir Putin’s aggression toward Ukraine: Harper spokesman Jason MacDonald told Canadian reporters Harper had been chatting with a handful of other leaders when Putin entered the room. Putin approached Harper and stuck out his hand to shake the Canadian prime minister’s, said MacDonald.

BRISBANE, Australia - Stephen Harper had a showdown with Vladimir Putin on Saturday, telling the Russian leader to "get out of Ukraine" in a dustup at the Group of 20 summit in Australia. Harper's spokesman, Jason MacDonald, said the prime minister was speaking to a group of G20 leaders at a private leaders' retreat on Saturday morning when Putin approached and extended his hand. MacDonald said Harper told Putin: "I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: You need to get out of Ukraine." According to MacDonald, Putin did not respond positively....

Too bad part of Trudeau’s being “authentic” and “being yourself” includes his hanging out at Mosques. Any day now Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be blamed by the lib-left and their running dog media hacks for this week’s terrorist attacks in Ottawa and Quebec. That’s because the lib-left, who always throw politics rather than effective stopgap measures at Islamic terrorism—which they refuse even to name—will move quickly to blame the terrorist attacks on Canada’s participation in the current combat mission in Iraq. The lib-left will do this even though there is documented proof on the books that terrorists in droves...

Canadians can at least take pride in the assurance that their prime minister doesn’t hide behind other names conjured by politicians and terrorists alike for terrorism South of our border, the current occupier of the White House calls jaw-dropping citizen slaughter by members of the so-called Religion of Peace “Workplace violence”. Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper calls the attack on Parliament Hill that took the life of War Memorial Honour Guard Cpl. Nathan Cirillo exactly what it is: TERRORISM. Terrorism is terrorism and no other name comes close to describing it. Those who call terrorism anything else, for reasons that...

Speaking for the first time since a gunman attacked parliament earlier today, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper called the week’s multiple assaults “a grim reminder that Canada is not immune to the types of terrorist attacks we have seen elsewhere around the world.” Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, 24, a reservist serving in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, was shot and killed while guarding the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Minutes later, a gunman opened fire inside the halls of parliament before he was shot to death by House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vicker. The CBC reported that police confirmed a photo...

Ottawa shooting kills Canadian soldier at War Memorial A soldier was shot and killed at the National War Memorial Wednesday morning before a single suspect was shot dead at Parliament. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones,” Ottawa police said in a statement. The soldier will not be identified until his family is notified, police added. The government has begun invalidating the passports of Canadians who have left to join extremist groups in Syria and Iraq, Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander revealed in an interview on Friday.
