Deutsche Bank on Tuesday announced that it will freeze plans to create 250 jobs at its Cary location due to North Carolina's new discrimination law, House Bill 2. The announcement on the company's website said the statewide legislation "invalidated existing protections of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender fellow citizens in some municipalities and prevents municipalities from adopting such protections in the future." NC Lt. Governor Dan Forest has issued a response to PayPal’s decision to not expand in Charlotte over HB2. The expansion would have created 400 new jobs. North Carolina passed a bill making it illegal for men and boys who claim to be a woman to use female facilities. Places such as public restrooms, showers and locker rooms now will be off limits to these men. As I reported this bill was voted on in response to the anti-discrimination law that was passed by Charlotte city council.
