False matrix of a false reality that the Rulers use to break down, beat down, and make “guilty” my (our) beloved American traditions and history, which they seek to warp, or destroy utterly “…Numerous communities have decided to commemorate the lives of indigenous Americans lost to genocide and colonial oppression instead of Christopher Columbus’s journey across the Atlantic.” Breitbart.com Know what? I’m sick of hearing this garbage about Christopher Columbus, Vs. “the noble red man.” Charges of Columbus’ anti-Native-American/Indigenous-People/First-Americans, Racism (whatever the hell THAT means anymore), genocide, and all that other happy horse manure seem to have really worn out...

Hoping to get some advice from FReepers who are hiring managers for tech positions - specifically system/network admins. I've been in the field for almost 25 years. Been consistently employed with a consistently rising salary. Now mid 40s and currently employed. But I would like to relocate to another city where we own property. I don't know anyone there other than our neighbors who are either retired, farmers, or both. The area I'm looking at is Parkersburg WV. Not exactly a mecca of tech positions, but a few pop up occasionally on the job boards. I've been sending out resumes...

A journey to the heart of New Guinea’s Asmat tribal homeland sheds new light on the mystery of the heir’s disappearance there in 1961 smat is, in its way, a perfect place. Everything you could possibly need is here. It’s teeming with shrimp and crabs and fish and clams. In the jungle there are wild pig, the furry, opossumlike cuscus, and the ostrichlike cassowary. And sago palm, whose pith can be pounded into a white starch and which hosts the larvae of the Capricorn beetle, both key sources of nutrition. The rivers are navigable highways. Crocodiles 15 feet long prowl...

This post is inspired by something that happened to me a couple of weeks ago, so it is on a much more personal level. We recently had a small ice storm in our area. I was stuck at work until about 5:00 PM and I knew it was going to be interesting trying to make it home. I was coming down a side street and saw the accident as it happened. A red Camaro failed to stop because of the ice and came across in front of me. I managed to avoid hitting it broadside, but there was a collision....

The severed heads of the six mostly-Christian workers were found in the jungles of Jolo by soldiers, four days after the workers were seized while heading to a government road project, said Major General Ruben Rafael. The workers were seized by Al Bader Parad, a commander of the Abu Sayyaf, responsible for the worst terror attacks in Philippine history. One of the soldiers who found the remains said, on condition of anonymity, that the heads had been scattered in various places in Jolo. The soldier said...

Channel 10 Executive Producer Avi Barzilai on Wednesday repulsed the idea of broadcasting a tape of the Pulsa Denura ceremony against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, calling the rite "a despicable ceremony by despicable people bought and broadcast by individuals who pretend to be journalists and would do anything in order to raise their ratings." "As a senior journalist," he told Army Radio, "I don't regard them as members of the profession," Barzilai continued. Israel Segal - chief editor of Channel 2's current affairs program Mishal Ham that acquired the tape for $5,000 - claimed that the moment the tape became...
