Kroger Co. is the nation’s largest supermarket chain, and now it’s claiming another title, Forbes reports. The Cincinnati-based grocer (NYSE: KR) will begin offering transgender workers full health benefits on Jan. 1, including surgery and drug therapy for gender reassignment. The move makes Kroger, the nation’s fifth-largest employer, the largest retail chain to offer such benefits to its employees.
