  • (NY Times) Save the Republican Party: Vote for Clinton

Every day, I run into Republican friends who can't stomach a vote for Donald J. Trump but don't know what to do. Vote for Hillary Clinton, who has trouble with the truth, wants to raise taxes and opposes free trade with Asia? Vote for the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, an outlier who once ran a marijuana business and embraces isolationism? Or not vote at all, maintaining a certain purity but allowing others to decide the next president? I faced exactly these choices myself. I have voted for every Republican nominee for president since 1980, but I will not this time....

In accepting the invitation of President Enrique Pena Nieto to fly to Mexico City, the Donald was taking a major risk. Yet it was a bold and decisive move, and it paid off in what was the best day of Donald Trump’s campaign. Standing beside Nieto, graciously complimenting him and speaking warmly of Mexico and its people, Trump looked like a president. And the Mexican president treated him like one, even as Trump restated the basic elements of his immigration policy, including the border wall. The gnashing of teeth up at the New York Times testifies to Trump’s triumph: “Mr....

There is fear and then there is the type of fear that makes a person psychotic. The footsteps the Left hears coming for them, the ones they know belong to Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump, have now frightened them into a panic that is not likely to subside anytime soon - if ever. A Wednesday night, New York Times op-ed written by a man with the extremely Runyonesque name of Charles Blow shows he has had such an extreme panic attack that it has caused him to fall into the gutter in front of the paper’s main office and start...

The fall of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi seemed to vindicate Hillary Clinton. Then militias refused to disarm, neighbors fanned a civil war, and the Islamic State found refuge. Islamists were moving aggressively to seize power, and members of the anti-Qaddafi coalition, notably Qatar, were financing them. Mrs. Clinton would be mostly a bystander as the country dissolved into chaos, leading to a civil war that would destabilize the region, fueling the refugee crisis in Europe and allowing the Islamic State to establish a Libyan haven that the United States is now desperately trying to contain. “There was one arsenal that we...
  • DNC Email Hack Just Got A Lot Bigger

According to The New York Times, the hack extended well beyond the DNC, and may have affected hundreds of other Democratic party officials and organizations, including the Democratic Governors Association. The FBI briefed staff members of the House and Senate intelligence committees last week on the investigation into the email hacks against the DNC in July. The FBI told staff it has no doubt that the Russian government was behind the hack, according to The New York Times, citing an anonymous staff member briefed on the matter. The FBI said that it has no direct evidence that Democratic nominee Hillary...
  • Stress Over Family Finances Propelled Hillary Clinton Into Corporate World (NYT alert)

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Losing the governor’s race here in 1980 so shattered a young Bill Clinton that he couldn’t face his supporters, so he sent his wife around to thank campaign workers instead. He later gathered with close friends for dinner but quietly sulked, playing the country song “I Don’t Know Whether to Kill Myself or Go Bowling” on the jukebox. But his wife had a more pressing concern: money. The ousted governor needed a job, the family needed a place to live, and moving out of the governor’s mansion meant losing the help they had as they raised...
  • Balance, Fairness and a Proudly Provocative Presidential Candidate

If you’re a working journalist and you believe that Donald J. Trump is a demagogue playing to the nation’s worst racist and nationalistic tendencies, that he cozies up to anti-American dictators and that he would be dangerous with control of the United States nuclear codes, how the heck are you supposed to cover him? Because if you believe all of those things, you have to throw out the textbook American journalism has been using for the better part of the past half-century, if not longer, and approach it in a way you’ve never approached anything in your career. If you...

The New York Times has admitted that journalists are biased against Donald Trump. However, according to Times media columnist Jim Rutenberg, it’s Trump’s fault. The headline for Rutenberg’s article on the front page is: “Trump is Testing the Norms of Objectivity in Journalism.” A more accurate alternative would be: “Trump Exposes Most Journalists for the Herd-Like Partisans They Really Are.” Rutenberg writes: If you’re a working journalist and you believe that Donald J. Trump is a demagogue playing to the nation’s worst racist and nationalistic tendencies, that he cozies up to anti-American dictators and that he would be dangerous with...
