Store officials say damage could reach $20,000 after a man wearing a 12-can beer box with eyeholes walked into a Davenport Hy-Vee Food Store, spraying produce with a fire extinguisher.

‘‘We got a health inspector in here first thing in the morning and they recommended that we get rid of anything that was exposed. If there were things in question, we took the safety side and threw it out,’’ said Tony Fuhrmeister, Hy-Vee’s assistant store director.
