Chagas, a disease that can lead to life-threatening heart and digestive disorders, is in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. So far, seven cases have been diagnosed in Arizona and California. Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin said the bugs that cause the disease, the Triatomid or "kissing bug," were already discovered in 11 southern and central Texas counties.

Six undocumented youth were arrested during a protest of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigration policies. Officer James Holmes with the Phoenix Police Department said they were arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing a thoroughfare. Holmes said the six arrests consisted of two men and four females, two of which are minors. Their names are not being released at this time. A suspected drunken driver accused of crashing into a home killing one child and injuring another is being held without bail after a judge heard Monday that he may not be in this country legally. Two women were charged with child endangerment in the case of a 3-month-old baby who died after being found unconscious in a daycare center in Bristow Thursday afternoon.Prince William County Police charged daycare providers Yolanda Gracelia Larin, 50, of Manassas and Mirna Mendez-Vasquez, 42, of Woodbridge on Thursday following the death reported in the daycare in Bristow.
