Two Indonesian Christians were publicly flogged in Banda Aceh province on Tuesday for playing a children's entertainment game. The game is seen by authorities in the conservative Muslim province as 'gambling' and therefore it violates Islamic Sharia law. Some 300 people jeered and held up their mobile phones to record when Dahlan Silitonga, 61, and Tjia Nyuk Hwa, 45, were flogged six and seven times respectively.

A 66-year-old woman was mauled to death by a huge crocodile on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, police said on Saturday (Feb 24). The Indonesian woman's family and neighbours launched a search after she failed to return home from a riverside garden near the remote village of Teluk Kuali in Jambi province earlier this week. Locals became suspicious she had been attacked after seeing a huge crocodile near a boat containing her belongings, police said. JAKARTA -- Indonesia is the latest Asian country to face American trade curbs after the U.S. Department of Commerce said it planned to slap anti-dumping duties of 92.52% to 276.65% on biodiesel imports from the archipelago.
