Republicans hold seat in Special Election for State Senate. Trump won this district over Hillary 60/34. It is one of the most R Senate Districts in Iowa based on registration. 16K Republicans, 15K No Party, 8K Democrats.Tonite it went 56/44. So a win for the Rs, but a big shift toward the Ds.

Four of the 24 Republicans who serve in the Iowa Senate are announcing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is their pick for the GOP’s 2016 presidential nomination. Senator Brad Zaun of Urbandale says he’s watched what Walker has done in Wisconsin. “I thought we needed someone with some executive experience and I’ve spent some time privately with him and asked a lot of questions and am 110 percent behind him,” Zaun says. I have thoroughly reviewed the bill introduced by Senator Bolkcom.
