Honoring the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks is an admirable cause, but one university says no matter how honorable the intent, such a memorial can’t be done with images of the World Trade Center attacks. Administrators at Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin have ruled that posters created for Young America’s Foundation’s 9/11: Never Forget Project create an “environment” where “students from a Muslim background would feel singled out and/or harassed.” YAF undertakes its 9/11 memorial project at campuses around the country every year. The posters created for last year’s 9/11 remembrance sparked complaints.

The FBI announced Friday that it had arrested all five New Mexico compound suspects, days after multiple charges were dropped. The suspects were now being charged with violating federal firearms and conspiracy laws. The announcement comes after local prosecutors dropped charges in the death of a 3-year-old boy at the compound site. Taos County District Attorney Donald Gallegos said Friday his office would now seek grand jury indictments involving the death. Gallegos said seeking indictments would allow more time to gather evidence. "The defendants, Jany Leveille, 35, a Haitian national illegally present in the United States, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, 40,...

Norway’s Nobel Institute said Wednesday it had no intention of withdrawing its Peace Prize from Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi after a damning UN report termed the treatment of the Rohingya people as “genocide.” “There is no question of the Nobel Committee withdrawing the peace prize,” director Olav Njolstad said. “The rules of the Nobel Peace Prize do not allow it,” he added. A UN probe released Monday detailed evidence of genocide and crimes against humanity “perpetrated on a massive scale” against the Rohingya, including acts of rape, sexual violence and mass killings. At a UN Security Council session on...

They are not allowed to put up a 9/11 memorial or any memorial for a victim of radical Islamic terrorism.

This summer, I found myself heading back to the U.K. as it was plunging into a debate over Islamic dress. Boris Johnson, the country’s former foreign secretary and London’s ex-mayor, wrote a column opposing attempts to ban face-covering veils. Nonetheless, he added, “it is absolutely ridiculous that people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes.” The responses could hardly have been more heated. I wanted to cut past the polemics and experience London’s Muslim communities for myself. My first visit was to Tower Hamlets, an East London borough that is about 38% Muslim, among the highest in the...

Unbelievable!! The child abuse charges against Lucas Morton, Subhannah Wahhaj and Hujrah Wahhaj were dropped, while those against fellow defendants, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj and Jany Leveille, remain. Now you may be asking what is this 10-day rule. Apparently the suspects have the right to a preliminary hearing within 10-days of their arrest, and the state apparently violated that right. More vomit inducing info about this at link:

SANTA FE – Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe writes in court documents that two adults arrested at a makeshift compound near the Colorado border earlier this month possibly didn’t believe that diseases are real and didn’t do what was needed to get medical attention for a boy who died on the property. The remains of Siraj Ibn Wahhaj’s 3-year-old son, Abdul-Ghani, were found at the compound Aug. 6. The boy suffered from Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, or HIE, a condition that caused severe seizures and required medication. On Friday, Wahhaj, 40, and Jany Leveille, 35, were charged with child abuse resulting...

In 2013, Lhota’s then-mayoral campaign was derailed when two adorable kittens got trapped on the train tracks — and the Republican candidate said he wouldn’t halt the subways to save them. Those kittens, Arthur and August, were found on a stretch of tracks in Brooklyn near Church Ave. station, and both have since been adopted. Luckily for the goats — who don’t have nine lives — they wandered onto tracks where the power had been cut for station rehab work, according to the MTA. NYPD officers nabbed the goats around 1:10 p.m., NYC Transit Subway said. "We thank ewe...

Even an occasional glass of wine or beer increases the risk of health problems and dying, according to a major study on drinking in 195 nations that attributes 2.8 million premature deaths worldwide each year to booze. "There is no safe level of alcohol," said Max Griswold, a researcher at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in Seattle, Washington and lead author for a consortium of more than 500 experts. Despite recent research showing that light-to-moderate drinking reduces heart disease, the new study found that alcohol use is more likely than not to do harm. "The protective effect of...

The accusations that Democratic National Committee vice chairman Keith Ellison sexually abused two women may become the latest case of social mores butting up against religious freedom. DNC chairman Tom Perez reminded critics of Ellison’s behavior that “imposition of Christian standards of behavior on a Muslim man violate the First Amendment protection against government infringement on the free exercise of religion.” “Under Islam, a man has total dominance over a woman,” Perez observed. “First, under sharia law, a woman is effectively only half as human as a man. Using this math, each of the accusers’ testimony is out weighed by...

For centuries the Swiss -- whether German, French, or Italian -- have been proudly insular in their mountain fastness, resolutely avoiding European conflicts. While hospitable to tourists, they're happy to see them spend their money and then get the hell out, and don't hand out citizenship lightly. Especially not when the prospective citizens bite the hand that's offered them: A Muslim couple have been refused Swiss citizenship after refusing to shake hands with people of the opposite sex, officials said. The couple were interviewed for citizenship several months ago in the city of Lausanne, and also “showed great difficulty in answering...
