"As you know, Alabama does not take orders from Washington," Sessions told Trump. Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions blasted President Trump's "juvenile insults" on Saturday in a marked departure from his characteristically tepid responses during the years of attacks from his former boss. Trump had tweeted that Sessions was a "disaster" while offering support for Alabama Republican Tommy Tuberville, who's running against Sessions for the Senate seat he held for decades before entering the Trump administration. "Jeff Sessions is a disaster who has let us all down. We don’t want him back in Washington!" Trump wrote.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., apparently did not enjoy President Trump's State of the Union address, tearing her printed copy of the speech immediately as the president wrapped up his remarks Tuesday night. When Fox News asked her afterwards why she did it, she responded: "Because it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives." She added: "I tore it up. I was trying to find one page with truth on it. I couldn't." On the heels of an impeachment trial, which is expected to end in an acquittal in the Senate on Wednesday, tension was palpable between Pelosi...

And then she tore up the speech. No sooner had President Donald Trump finished his State of the Union address than House Speaker Pelosi ripped the paper it was printed on in two. Right there, on camera, behind Trump’s back. As he stepped down, she ripped again. Then a third time. And a fourth. In case any confusion remained, Pelosi held up what remained of the address to her family in the gallery, in full view of reporters.

Why is it illegal for a 30-year-old man to have sex with a 15-year-old girl? She might be cute, willing, single… Heck, she might even have initiated the contact. If they both want to, why should it be illegal? Well, statutory rape laws exist for a good and important reason: under the law, even if that girl says “yes,” the man cannot accept that “yes.” She is not deemed old enough under the law to give her consent. She is not considered ready, in our society, to make such a serious and potentially life-altering decision. As in the cases of...

Authorities are searching for a 15-year-old who escaped from an Orange juvenile detention facility, where he was being held on suspicion of murdering his mother. The boy was 13 when he was arrested in May 2017 on suspicion of stabbing his mother, Barbara Scheuer-Souzer, in Garden Grove. She was able to tell police she was attacked by her son, before she died at a hospital. Ike, who has mild autism, was found at a shopping center nearby after the stabbing. His name wasn’t released at the time of the murder. Probation officials say Ike got out of a locked room...

We’ve all seen the bulletproof glass that banks have at the teller. Ever wonder how effective it is? Well this Youtuber TotallyRad have been thinking this over for a long time and he now has the ballz to test it out. Not just shooting at the bulletproof glass but he’s going to get behind the glass and have his friend shoot at it. Though, he keeps iterating that he’s dumb for doing this. He obviously is an adrenalin junkie. There are many unwise decisions in life, this is certainly one of those. His friend shot at him 3 times...

The Louisiana Center for Children's Rights has a graph on its website that shows that in 2013, 96 percent of the juveniles who were arrested in Orleans Parish were black. If you think that's outrageous, then you should look at the statistic from 2014 when 97 percent of the juvenile arrests in Orleans Parish were of black children. But, wait, there's more. In 2015, the last year that's on the LCCR's graph, 99 percent of the juveniles arrested in Orleans Parish were black. Those statistics bring to mind a point that author Michelle Alexander makes in "The New Jim Crow,"...

Donald Trump’s long-time but informal adviser Roger Stone says the Secretary of State job was dangled in front of Mitt Romney in order to “torture” him for previously opposing the president-elect. During a Sunday appearance on InfoWars with Alex Jones, a conspiratorial media outlet that has become a mouthpiece of the next president, Stone called Romney a “choker” and said that Trump was simply toying with him. “Donald Trump was interviewing Mitt Romney for Secretary of State in order to torture him,” Stone claimed on the program. “To toy with him. And given the history, that’s completely understandable. Mitt Romney...

A divided Iowa Supreme Court on Friday banned judges from imposing life prison sentences without the possibility of parole on juveniles convicted of first-degree murder. The court ruled 4-3 that the sentence amounts to cruel and unusual punishment under the Iowa Constitution. Even juveniles who commit the most heinous crimes should someday have the option of proving to the Iowa Board of Parole that they have been rehabilitated and are fit for release, Justice Brent Appel wrote for the majority.

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Social Welfare Minister Haim Katz are pushing an initiative to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 12 - but the Israel Police itself is against the idea. Police believe that lowering the age by which minors convicted of violent crimes can be jailed will encourage, not discourage, crime. "We maintain that it is necessary that the law allow police to arrest minors in exceptional cases," an opinion submitted by the Legal Counsel of the Department of Investigations (CID) states, Walla! News reports. "[But] the detention of minors under age 14 as proposed would not...

Caroline Glick picked up on one article the Israeli left-wing paper Ha’aretz didn’t bother translating into English that details Obama’s involvement in the upcoming Israeli elections. A summary of the article is provided by IMRA (Independent Media Review & Analysis): Haaretz reporter Roi Arad revealed in an article in the Hebrew edition today [January 26] that the foreign funded organization, “One Voice”, is bankrolling the V-2015 campaign to defeat Binyamin Netanyahu’s national camp in the March 2015 Knesset Elections. One indication of the generous financing is that it has now flown in a team of five American campaign experts (including...

Rivlin is in New York to address the official Holocaust commemorations of the United Nations. His schedule includes meetings with African-American leaders and others. According to unsourced Israeli media reports, the White House invited Rivlin to a summit meeting with Obama in Washington. Israeli media outlets, including Channel 10 and the Ynet news site, have suggested the White House invitation was meant to embarrass Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was not invited to meet with Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry during his stay in Washington to address both houses of Congress in early March. Netanyahu was invited to...

President Obama’s refusal to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu when the Israeli prime minister comes to Washington in March to address a joint meeting of Congress is a petulant, juvenile snub — one that couldn’t be more badly timed. The Israeli leader “spat in our face,” an unnamed senior U.S. official told Israeli newspaper Haaretz, “and there will be a price.” An unnamed source “close to Kerry” told the Washington Post the House speech “could blunt Secretary Kerry’s enthusiasm for being Israel’s primary defender.” That’s gangster talk, aimed at one of America’s closest allies — all because the Israeli leader dared...

A 10-year-old boy has been charged with criminal homicide after he brutally beat 90-year-old Helen Novak to death. Tristen Kurilla, apparently angry because the 90-year-old woman shouted at him, hooked a cane around Novak's neck and then held her down and beat her to death while she was in bed, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors said today that they have charged the child as an adult for the murder of Helen Novak, a woman who was under the care of the child's grandfather. The Associated Press reported that the incident occurred on Saturday when the boy was visiting his grandfather's house...

Authorities aren't saying exactly what happened, but WCVB-TV reports that Chism can be seen on surveillance video carrying what appears to be a pencil and following the woman into a locker room. After he began choking the woman, other staffers quickly pulled him away, reports the TV station, which points out that the scenario "bears a chilling resemblance" to how teacher Colleen Ritzer was murdered at Danvers High School last year.
