You probably heard that a snowstorm is approaching the major cities of the northeastern U.S. and the mid-Atlantic states. Some forecasting models have outcomes as high as 24-36 inches of snow for some areas. Most at risk appears to be eastern PA, NJ, and MD. NYC and LI could also get hit with 18-24 inch amounts. So far it looks a bit less extreme for most of New England, with forecast models saying 6-12 inches for most areas. That is also the case for western PA, central NY state, and some parts of the Midwest where the storm has already...

Walmart has apologized for going too far with an adult-only Christmas themed sweater that portrays jolly old Saint Nick with cocaine. The holiday sweater featured on the retailer’s Canada website showed Santa Clause gripping a straw, seated in front of a table with three lines of a white substance and below that it read, “Let It Snow,” per the New York Post in a piece published Monday. (RELATED: NRA Rips Walmart For Banning Some Ammunition Sales) “These sweaters, sold by a third-party seller on Walmart.ca, do not represent Walmart’s values and have no place on our website,” a spokesperson shared....

Planned Parenthood has cancelled a Day of Action that was planned for January 26 because of the incoming blizzard. The largest provider of abortion in the country planned the Day of Action to kickoff the 2015 New York State Legislative Session. “As our state representatives start their work, we’ll be there to greet them and make sure they know that issues such as Family Planning Funding, Reproductive Health Care Access, and Paid Family Leave must be a priority in 2015,” Planned Parenthood of New York City Action wrote on their events page. In cancelling the event, the group posted this,...

It’s snowing in Washington. And I had quite a slow ride home through a very heavy fetch of snow that reflects back in the headlights making it difficult to see. But it had a magnificent and hypnotic effect. I will enjoy my walk tonight through the winter wonderland. Not every one likes snow but is it an amazing work of God. He takes a barren winter landscape and creates it anew. I can almost hear the Lord saying, “Behold, I make all things new!”In the modern world we often walk past the glory of God and hardly notice the gifts that...

As Britain ground to a standstill today in Arctic conditions, forecasters gave warning the country should brace itself for six more days of snow. Parts of the country saw 1.5ft (47cm) of snow fall over night and the freezing temperatures are expected to continue for at least another two weeks. Hospitals cancelled operations, schools were closed and the Armed Forces had to be called in to help clear roads. All airports were affected by delays and cancellations. The runway at Gatwick closed with more than 80 flights unable to take off.

A Plowable Snowstorm all the way to New York City For cities like New York and Pittsburgh, this could be the biggest snowstorm of the season so far. The storm has produced 3 inches of snow across Chicago Friday morning, resulting in over 200 flights to be canceled and extensive travel delays in and around the city. Gusty winds led to delays around New York City Friday, ahead of the storm. The storm is still the development stages and only will grow stronger later tonight and Saturday causing heavier snow to develop. People across the southern Ohio Valley could experience...

By: Dell Hunt, Jackson, Michigan (To the tune “Let it Snow) Oh the weather outside is frightful. But to the “skeptics” it’s so delightful. Temps have dropped down low. Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! Al Gore promised global warming. But instead it’s been cold and storming. And solar activity has dropped way low. Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! Since sunspots have dropped out of sight. A Global Cooling trend has started to form. Proves the “skeptics” are proven right, More CO2 does not cause Earth to warm. The Solar Cycle is still...

The President also marked the one-year anniversary of the 'No Child Left Behind Act' in a ceremony and speech in the East Room.
