If, in a county where President Obama won 69% of the vote less than two years ago, the President cannot fill a Community College Recreational Center with a scheduled event, you might consider that to be newsworthy. Apparently the Mainstream Media did not. Final results from the 2008 election show President Obama won the state of Ohio by a substantial amount. A quick check of the final numbers shows Obama with 2,933,388 votes and McCain lagging behind with 2,674,491. An election night drubbing, in a state that was considered by many media pundits to be a “battleground state.”

I wrote a month or so ago about my intention to attend the 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally despite the not-so-subtle-threats of the New Black Panthers and the “looming” presence of Al Sharpton. Sometimes the media is blatant in its bias, sometimes subtle, sometimes both. Case in point, poll numbers. Certainly, there has not been equal treatment by the media when comparing the poll numbers of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Obama’s numbers are plunging faster than the economy itself, faster than W’s and faster than anybody could’ve ever imagined at this point. The activist old media is building up Obama, while his public numbers are takin’ a terrific tumble. It’s blatant. We all see it, we all know it.

Chris Matthews this weekend winced in pain when a guest on his syndicated program said it's actually more likely the Democrats will lose the Senate than the House in the upcoming midterm elections.

Jonathan Strong of The Daily Caller notes an interesting and instructive conversation that was held publicly between lefty blogger Matthew Yglesias and National Review’s Mark Hemingway. During their exchange on Twitter, lefty Yglesias claimed that lying is a legitimate tactic for “advocates” to use to win the policy argument, thereby admitting that liberals think it is OK to lie in order to get their policies in place. On his Twitter feed, Yglesias told Hemingway, “I think fighting dishonesty with dishonesty is sometimes the right thing for advocates to do, yes. That’s an honest view.”

This has to be the media’s version of a comedy bit. Across the board from the activist old media we find the universal common thread, they ask: “Are we seeing a pause in the recovery?” When was the recovery? Are you talking about the recovery of the Lakers in the second half of the NBA Finals? The recovery of British Petroleum from the worst disaster in the history of the world forever and ever? The recovery of Jet Blue from a wacky flight attendant?

As soon as the mainstream media discovered the Shirley Sherrod speech was longer than the clip posted on Big Government, they practically tripped over their underwear to pounce on Andrew Breitbart. The craziest example was Keith Olbermann coming to work from vacation to broadcast a rambling “frothing at the mouth” He started by telling the story of Alfred Dreyfus, an eighteenth-century French Officer who was falsely convicted of treason because he was Jewish. “Liberal journalists suggest government shut down Fox News” is definitely an eye catching Daily Caller headline, but it does not accurately describe the mindset shown in the leaked excerpts from Journolist, the 400 member listserv created by Erza Klein. It does not show a grand liberal conspiracy to shut Fox News down, as it was simply suggested by one email, but it does show that Fox News has progressive journalists’ panties in a twisted bunch.
