I just wrote an article which is a companion piece to one I did last year on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the role of gun ownership in the civil rights movement. I found more archival material that was fascinating, along with a couple of excellent video clips - one from the National Black Chamber of Commerce and another one with Otis McDonald, the McDonald of the landmark recent SCOTUS ruling McDonald vs Chicago speaking to a sympathetic Black member of the Illinois State Legislature.
