According to sources close to Jerry Moran, the FDM team learned that Kansas’ 1st district congressman will run for governor in 2006. Moran will announce shortly after the legislature is completed in late May/early June. Moran shouldn't have any serious Republican challengers for the nomination. Liberal Governor Kathleen Sebelius should be a goner now. Also, our sources tell us that Olathe State Senator Kay O'Connor is considering running for Secretary of State against incumbent Ron Thornburgh. Evidently, O'Connor sent out “secret” letters to supporters about her S.O.S. desires. We're not exactly sure what Thornburgh has done to deserve a primary...
