They know exactly what they are doing...and they know it is WRONG! The Republicans pulled the same stuff when they were in power and they were voted out in 2006. This should be a lesson to all in both parties. The American people are not stupid. They are paying attention. This is what the tea party is all about. We the people, run this country. You are not leaders. You are representatives. You are public SERVANTS...there to serve and represent US. Us seems a fitting word for U.S. (United States). The last remark in this video says it all. We...

Cancer-stricken Sen. Kennedy asks state leaders for speedy process to replace him in Congress BOSTON (AP) — A cancer-stricken Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has written a poignant letter to Massachusetts leaders asking that they change state law to allow a speedy replacement of him in Congress. The note to Gov. Deval Patrick and the state's Senate president and House speaker acknowledges the state changed its succession law in 2004 to require a special election to fill any vacancy. At the time, legislative Democrats were concerned Republican Gov. Mitt Romney would be able to fill any vacancy created as Sen. John...

Shake-up gives Fed a boost Last Updated: 2:02am BST 30/03/2008 AMBROSE EVANS-PRITCHARD SOPHIE BRODIE THE US government will tomorrow unveil a radical overhaul of financial regulation that would give the Federal Reserve greater powers to oversee market stability. The proposals are part of a wider effort to simplify labyrinthine US regulation, consolidate regulators and make the market more competitive. The review began last year, but has become increasingly critical as the Fed struggled to restore confidence in markets shattered by the credit crunch and bail-out of Bear Stearns. advertisement While the plans would allow the Fed to scrutinise more closely...

I think there are many Freepers who are tired of this constant bashing of the Supreme Court for Lawrence v. Texas. I think they did a great job and stuck a knife in the heart of big government. Individual liberty is at the heart of what conservatism is all about - the individual having primacy over the state. It disturbs me that there are so many who wanted to see the state prevail in its desire to regulate private, individual freedoms. I say, good job, to a consistent, conservative SC! You did exactly what you're supposed to be doing.
