Donald Trump hasn’t had a lot of good polling news lately. Very few swing-state polls have shown him with a lead since the first presidential debate, and those few leads have mostly been in states like Ohio and Iowa that aren’t part of Hillary Clinton’s path of least resistance to 270 electoral votes. To find good polls for Trump in states that could be part of Clinton’s firewall, you have to cherry-pick a bit — and you have to accept the fact that “good” in this context means trailing by a little instead of by a lot. With that stipulated,...

Less than five weeks until Election Day, Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump has disintegrated in the swing state of New Hampshire, a new survey finds. The Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll surveyed New Hampshire likely voters earlier this week and found Clinton with a slim lead over Trump, 44 percent to 42 percent. That’s well within the survey’s margin of error of 4.4 percent. To date, Trump has never led a general election poll in the Granite State. In the last two months, Clinton has maintained a 6 percent advantage in state polls, according to an average calculated by RealClearPolitics....

MANCHESTER, N.H. —The morning after the first general election debate of the 2016 campaign, former Gov. John H. Sununu on Tuesday came full circle, formally endorsing Donald Trump for president. Sununu, who is also a former White House Chief of Staff and former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman, was among Trump’s harshest critics during the first-in-the-nation presidential primary campaign. But in a statement released by the Trump campaign, Sununu said: “Donald Trump is the only candidate in this race who can bring bold change to Washington, D.C. I support the Trump-Pence ticket for their pro-growth agenda and commitment to protecting...

I've just started looking at 538 for a couple of weeks now. This is the highest chance of winning Trump has gone since I have been looking at it. He's up 2% since this morning. A lot can change but little New Hampshire is the highest non Trump state but it is up also. Looking at the snake graph at the bottom little NH with the other states and we would be saying President Trump with right over 270 electoral votes. The establishment has got to go scorched earth now.

Cankles up only one in state where Bush in 2000 last Republican to win = another sign of impending tsunami.

Donald Trump's campaign is planning its biggest ad buy to date — upward of $10 million on commercials airing over the next week or so. The campaign is expects the ads to air as soon as Monday in nine swing states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida, where the campaign has already been on the air, along with New Hampshire, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada. 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney lost eight of those nine states. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has so far been badly outspent by his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, and groups supporting her....

“They’re not buying it to go out and hunt deer. You don’t need an AK-47 or an AR-15 to hunt deer. They’re buying it do bad things and we need to recognize that and address it.” Democratic New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said certain types of firearms like the AR-15 are the kind of guns that should be banned. She added that people trying to purchase the weapon — which is popular among American gun owners — are “buying it do bad things.” “Well, I think people need to have their voices heard, and what I’ve heard from people in...

Donald Trump on Wednesday said that he would consider making Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) his running mate. “I respect Ted,” he told host Bill O’Reilly on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor." "He was a very strong competitor. He really competed hard and tough." “He’s certainly a capable guy,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee added. "It’s something we can think about.” Trump defeated Cruz in Tuesday’s Indiana GOP presidential primary, making him the presumptive nominee. Cruz suspended his Oval Office bid shortly afterward, saying that his results in the Hoosier State “foreclose” his path to the Republican presidential nomination. Trump on...

Hillary Clinton has made every effort to make Flint her own. The water crisis afflicting this predominantly black Michigan city - ignored by Washington politicians for years - has become another battlefield in a progressive war between Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Race, class and the environment matter again in an issues-based, neck-and-neck race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Looking past Tuesday's primary in New Hampshire, where Sanders is tipped to win, and toward the March primary states where she will be counting on African American support, Clinton made a symbolic campaign stop here on Sunday. "I feel blessed to be...

If you think the arguments between the Republican candidates have been bad, well, you ain't seen nothing yet. Pundits, reporters and political analysts are going to really have at it. Two competing theories about the Republican race are about to come to a head, and both of them can claim a victory of sorts after South Carolina. The first theory is simple. It can be summarized in one word: Trump! The more detailed version would argue the following: * Trump has easily won two of the first three states. * Trump is ahead in the polls in pretty much every...

An aide to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's (R) likely presidential campaign resigned late Tuesday night just a day after her hire was announced. Liz Mair, who was a digital strategist for Walker, came under a storm of criticism for her advocacy for some relatively liberal policy positions and colorful tweets that critics claimed were insulting to Iowans. "In other news, I see Iowa is once again embarrassing itself, and the GOP, this morning. Thanks, guys," Mair wrote about a January event hosted by conservative Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), according to the Associated Press. "The sooner we remove Iowa's front-running status,...

Hillary Clinton's campaign is attempting to trick Bernie Sanders supporters in Nevada into voting for Clinton by disguising themselves as nurses affiliated with the National Nurses United union (NNU), which has thrown its support behind Sanders. NNU executive director RoseAnn DeMoro caught Clinton staffers red-handed changing from blue Hillary Clinton campaign shirts into red shirts of the same shade as the red shirts NNU members are wearing, in an apparent attempt to confuse voters....

Either it was a most unusual party or else it was a most unusual testimony time. I'm referring to a Tuesday evening event at a banquet hall in Hollis, New Hampshire. What made the event most unusual is that the event was both a party and a testimony time. I'm speaking of the post-election event where many of us gathered to celebrate the strong showing of Ted Cruz in the New Hampshire primary. Several hundred campaign workers gathered among hundreds of boxes of pizza and dozens of TV cameras to celebrate Cruz's strong third-place finish. Why celebrate third? Because New...

Trump won in dominant fashion and Cruz met expectations as Rubio fell completely apart. This is scary stuff. I've been writing about the Donald Trump phenomenon several times a week for seven months now. As his candidacy evolved from a bizarre spectacle to a serious campaign, it's become clear that this is a pivotal moment in American politics. It's not just that we have a shocking demagogue or a profane performer topping the polls in the Republican presidential race. It's the alarming notion that a crude authoritarian white nationalist is appealing to a very large section of the American people....

If Iowa was Sen. Ted Cruz's stomping ground, New Hampshire was set up to be a resounding defeat.

The evangelical values Cruz campaigned on in the Midwest were in short supply in the secular Granite State. He -- and everyone else -- polled double-digits behind Donald Trump. But though Trump snagged his first win in Tuesday night's primary, Cruz notched a comfortable third-place finish after Ohio Gov. John Kasich and avoided a brawl that experts said are likely to bruise the weaker candidates in the race.

MANCHESTER, N.H -- If Marco Rubio won the Iowa caucus by finishing third last week, Ted Cruz just won New Hampshire. Cruz (R-Texas), the actual winner of the Iowa Republican caucus, finished third in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night, behind life-sized Chucky impersonator Donald Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. In other words, he lost. But don't count Cruz out quite yet. Just two of the 48 states have voted, and Cruz has the money -- and the polling numbers -- to stay in the GOP race and, potentially, win it. Cruz, a methodical politician, plotted a course to...
