Comedy Central says U.S. President Barack Obama will be on hand next week as Stephen Colbert begins his final two weeks as the fake cable news bloviator on "The Colbert Report." Obama is scheduled to appear on Monday, Dec. 8 during Colbert's one-day visit to Washington. Colbert is taking over for David Letterman on CBS' "Late Show" next year and his last appearance in character on Comedy Central will be on Dec. 18.

As his administration searches for ways to strengthen trust between police and the communities they protect around the country in the wake of the Ferguson, Missouri shooting and protests, President Obama pledged that this particular endeavor will be "different." "The president of the United States is deeply invested in making sure that this time is different," Mr. Obama said. "When I hear the young people around this table talk about their experiences, it violates my belief in what America can be to hear young people feeling marginalized and distrustful, even after they've done everything right. That's not who we are."

....Obama will discuss the situation in Ferguson, Missouri, Monday with his Cabinet, civil rights leaders, law enforcement officials and others.

So this morning I have kicked back and perused the local south Florida stations. Ever since their hero Obama seized power, they've done their best to set him up as the Messiah to the audience. Today was PARTICULARLY hilarious....as it has been the past several Black Fridays. The number of people seeking U.S. unemployment benefits jumped last week, pushing total applications above 300,000 for the first time in nearly three months. Weekly applications rose 21,000 to a seasonally adjusted 313,000, the Labor Department said Wednesday. That's the highest level since the first week of September.

Favorability for the Democrats has hit a record low as things go from bad to worse for the party after significant midterm losses, according to a new poll. Only 36 percent had a favorable view of the Democratic party, a 6-percentage-point drop from before the midterms, the Gallup poll released Wednesday found.
