DUBAI - Al-Qaeda said the deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya was in revenge for the killing of the network's number two Sheikh Abu Yahya al-Libi, SITE Intelligence Group reported Saturday. "The killing of Sheikh Abu Yahya only increased the enthusiasm and determination of the sons of (Libyan independence hero) Omar al-Mokhtar to take revenge upon those who attack our Prophet," Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said in a statement, quoted by the US-based monitoring group. Al-Qaeda's Yemen-based offshoot did not claim direct responsibility for Tuesday's attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that killed the US...

The Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel-Rahman, is serving a life sentence for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Since becoming the new Egyptian President, Mohammed Morsi has vowed to secure his return to Egypt, as a "nod to his base" of "hard-line Salafi Islamists," as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The bomb in 1993 killed six Americans and injured more than a thousand. Omar Abdel-Rahman's terror organization masterminded the assassination of former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and he was reported to have a "close association" with Osama bin Laden. would Americans want to see this man walk...

The "Imprisoned Omar Abdel Rahman Brigades" wanted/wants the release of the Blind Sheik, Omar Abdel Rahman, who is imprisoned in North Carolina. The Brigades attacked the International Red Cross office in Benghazi in August, and two month earlier, June 2012, detonated a bomb outside the Benghazi Consulate office where Ambassador Stevens was murdered on September 11th. That bombing was in retaliation for the death-by-drone of al-Qaeda's second-in-command, Abu Yahya al Libi (read it here at CNN, dated June 6, 2011). There was damage to glass on the front of the Consulate, but no injuries. Leaflets left at the bombing site...

When Jihad Came to America by Andrew C. McCarthy On May 2 and 3, 1990, the U.S. embassy in Cairo alerted its counterpart in Khartoum that Egypt’s “leading radical,” Omar Abdel Rahman, was on his way to Sudan. Warning that his ultimate plan might be to seek exile in the United States, the Cairo embassy asked its colleagues to pass along any information they might learn about his activities on Sudanese soil. What did U.S. officials already know about Abdel Rahman in 1990? As the 9/11 Commission would later determine, they knew that he had been arrested repeatedly in Egypt...

Authorities say the couple's former neighbor, Khalil Deek, is considered a major al Qaeda figure, and is believed to have run the Orange County cell -- one of the first al Qaeda sleeper...

Terrorists aren’t supposed to get visas. But Hani Nour Eldin was apparently invited to D.C. this week to meet with top officials. Did no one Google him? It was supposed to be a routine meeting for Egyptian legislators in Washington, an opportunity for senior Obama administration officials to meet with new members of Egypt’s parliament and exchange ideas on the future of relations between the two countries. Instead, the visit this week looks like it’s turning into a political fiasco. Included in the delegation of Egyptian lawmakers was Hani Nour Eldin, who, in addition to being a newly elected member...

US Politicians Duped By The Brotherhood In the United States, one individual maintained a pretense of "moderation" which would later embarrass the left and the right. According to the testimony of Dr. Michael Waller to the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Abdurahman Alamoudi was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. A man born in Eritrea in 1951, he arrived in the US in 1979 and became a naturalized US citizen on May 23, 1996. From 1985 onwards he became involved in many Muslim groups. In 1990 he founded the Washington DC-based American Muslim Council (AMC), which Waller states "has...
